2012 Minnesota Twins: 99 Problems...

Re: 2012 Minnesota Twins: 99 Problems...

Next up: Denard. He works the count to full . . . aaaaand . . . he walks! 2 on, nobody out!

Re: 2012 Minnesota Twins: 99 Problems...

Ben Revere . . . pops up a bunt attempt. Pitch was up under his chin. You probably shouldn't hit that. One out.

Re: 2012 Minnesota Twins: 99 Problems...

I'm a little bourboned, I'll admit it.

Mauer takes a beautiful fastball right down the middle for strike one.

Pretty sweet to wake up and read your play by play and then have to double check to make sure the walk off actually happened.

From now on I expect play by play from you for every game.

You don't want to jinx it. It can only be broken out every so often. This is a fine art here. :D

Re: 2012 Minnesota Twins: 99 Problems...

Nice to see that San Diego is the worst team in baseball now. The Cubs are tied with the Twins for 2nd worst. Both of them are on 3 game win streaks. Somethings gotta give! :D

Re: 2012 Minnesota Twins: 99 Problems...

Just saw a little of yesterday's game, Pavano came close to throwing a no-outer.

Re: 2012 Minnesota Twins: 99 Problems...

Rob Antony, the Twins' Assistant GM, uses the word "irregardless." This means I hate Rob Antony, the Twins' Assistant GM.

Re: 2012 Minnesota Twins: 99 Problems...

So, the number 2 pick was Byron Buxton, the supposed phenom center fielder. Everything they say about him seems good, but with the baseball draft we won't know for a few years how he'll actually turn out. Despite the dire need for pitching, I don't have a problem with this pick, being that there are no Strasburg type players in this draft, I like the approach of picking whoever they feel is the best player, position be ****ed. For later picks, I'll hope that they get a ton of pitching.

The second 2 picks yesterday were that pitching. Some high school kid from Puerto Rico named Berrios with a mid-90's fastball and 2 breaking pitches, and Luke Bard from Georgia Tech, brother of that guy that pitches for the Red Sox. Supposedly, they're both considered strikeout pitchers, thank god.

Re: 2012 Minnesota Twins: 99 Problems...

Oh don't worry - MN's pitching coaches will turn them into pitch-to-contact guys long before they get a sniff at the major league level.

Bruce Chen?
Really?

Re: 2012 Minnesota Twins: 99 Problems...

Twins tie for the best record over their last 10 games at 7-3. Unfortunately, the White Sox were also 7-3 so they gained zero ground.

Well to be accurate, they gained 1.5 games. Because Cleveland was in first 10 days ago.

Two things on tonight's game:

They still haven't shown the 3rd base line replay of the game-winning hit. They always show that. Hmmm . . .

And if Revere grabs Willingham in celebration before Josh touches 1st, isn't he out? (If you noticed on the replay, Josh suddenly started running fast to 1st once he saw Revere was about to grab him)
