2012 Minnesota Twins: 99 Problems...

Re: 2012 Minnesota Twins: 99 Problems...

Hahahahahahaha this season is going to be fun. It would be even more fun if Wilbur was still around.

Re: 2012 Minnesota Twins: 99 Problems...

I watched baseball yesterday!

In other less shocking news. Nishioka went 0-5 in an SS game vs the Red Sox.

Re: 2012 Minnesota Twins: 99 Problems...

I have no idea why I'm watching this spring training game right now. At least it's not the wild.

Re: 2012 Minnesota Twins: 99 Problems...

If you think the projected starting lineup is bad, just think about June when we have lost the usual suspects to injury and Casilla to being a terrible player.

1 Denard Span, CF
2 Jamey Carroll, SS
3 Rene Tosoni, LF
4 Chris Parmalee, 1B
5 Josh Willingham, DH
6 Ryan Doumit, C
7 Danny Valencia, 3B
8 Luke Hughes, 2B
9 Ben Revere, RF

If I didn't know better, I would have guessed that was Rochester's line-up.

Re: 2012 Minnesota Twins: 99 Problems...

Twins are 3-0 vs the Rays.
Twins are 0-3 vs anyone else.

I did hit my first 2 HR in MLB 12 with Doumit and Willingham vs Verlander tho. Maybe its a good omen! :D

Re: 2012 Minnesota Twins: 99 Problems...

Not that it means much, but this is what the starting pitching has looked like this spring:

Carl Pavano 17.2 IP 6.11 ERA 1.75 WHIP 8 SO

Scott Baker 4.2 IP 13.50 ERA 1.93 WHIP 1 SO

Fransisco Liriano 18 IP 2.00 ERA .72 WHIP 23 SO

Nick Blackburn 12 IP 1.50 ERA .67 WHIP 9 SO

Jason Marquis 12.2 IP 8.53 ERA 2.21 WHIP 5 SO

Re: 2012 Minnesota Twins: 99 Problems...

Zumaya cut. I was hoping to see the 2006 Zumaya for the Twins. Too many injuries for him I guess...

The talk is that Moonshot won't be ready and that Swarzak or possibly Hendricks will take his spot at the start of the season.

The numbers from Liriano and Blackburn are encouraging, hopefully headcase Liriano stays away, but that's doubtful.

Re: 2012 Minnesota Twins: 99 Problems...

I bought some tickets to a couple games today. I figure that I may as well go right away in April while there is still a semblance of hope. 2 standing room tickets for the home opener against Anaheim, and 2 200 level tickets right behind the plate for a noon Saturday game against KC, late in April.

Hendricks has been lights out this spring. I love Liriano's numbers and the fact he has so many K's are close to his numbers prior to him getting hurt. I understand he likely won't return to that great of form, but hopefully he can be effective this year.

Re: 2012 Minnesota Twins: 99 Problems...

It sounds like they are heating up for the start of the season. I guess there is a slight chance that they won't be horse****. But I guess we'll see.

Today:
Plouffe - 4/4 3HR and a 2B (AAA game)
Morneau - 3/4 1HR 3RBI 2Runs
Mauer - 3/4 1RBI 2Runs
Hughes - 2/4 1HR 3RBI 2Runs

Pitching is still a disaster though.

Makes sense. Why keep him on the 40-man roster if he won't be playing for over a year. Unlike some other that the Twins have kept on the 40-man roster, Zumaya isn't worth a roster spot.
