Some golf swing guy was on the radio one day a year or two ago and said it was probably inevitable because his swing had such a torque to it that his knees and other joints were going to break down around then, especially since he'd been playing nonstop and 15-20 years with that swing.

Yep, I heard the same thing. It was just a matter of if he was able to adapt to a new swing that didn't put that same torque on his knee and still keep his game together. So far, he's gotten somewhat close, but hasn't gotten there yet.

I'm totally disgusted with this whole fiasco..... I had bad feeling when Ian Poulter almost popped his vein in his head making 5 straight birdies to close the match that European will be totally aped to play hard and keep the pedal on the gas and not let it go... aside than Duff, Johnsons, the USA laid a goose eggs for European.

One thing that I knew it will not go in USA's favor is the stupid pin placement that DL3 set up... majority of USA hit a draw, then why in the world would he put a pin placement on the far right on nbr 17 and the pin at the front on the nbr 18... use USA's strength to set up the pin placement.... and one thing that bugged me most is how happy Phil is when Rose made the putt on nbr 17.... if i was in his shoes, I would not show any of my feeling, only poker face and kick his *** on nbr 18 but nooooo Phil need to show how happy he is with Rose making that putt.

For 2014, we need really hardcore captain that can kick USA's *** and hate European with passion... that would do anything to beat European.. sadly, I dont think we have anyone like that one. We need some young blood to play well, and get rid of Stricker, Furyk, Kutcher, Mickelson and Woods (we won in 2008 without him)

If we have Bradley, Duff, DJ, Webb, Bubba, Snedeker..... along with several players that can step up like maybe Fowler, Mahan, Bo Van Pelt (only cos I can see how much a**hole he can be toward European) Ryan Moore, Garrigus, along with youngster that havent make their name yet but will in next 2 years like Bud Cauley, Scott Stallings, Ted Potter Jr., Kyle Stanley, and maybe hotshot from college or Webtour that will play next year on PGA tour.

Who will you think will be the next Captain for 2014??

Agreed. I think he had lost interest (and focus) by the time of his last putt.

Now that I've moved to Florida, and can golf year round instead of 5 months in NY... went and spent about an hour and a half hitting irons and wedges at Dick's. Ended up acquiring some Callaway Razr-X irons (4-AW) and Taylormade Z-spin SW and LW. Excited to go give them a loop tomorrow and hopefully Monday.

Was getting about 185 with my 7i on solid strikes, and about 210 with the 4i. Also hit the Taylormade Burner 3.0 and Adams A5OS. Liked the 3.0's as well, but the Adams hybrids I was spraying about 30 yards each way off center. Most of the Razr-X hits were within 5-10 yards of center, and virtually as long.

These should be a little better than my old man's hand-me-down Tour Model II irons that are older than I am ;)

After taking a bunch of years off, had a good summer (and fall so far) of getting out and playing.

Played at Bulle Rock in Maryland last week. Very nice, challenging but not crazy.

Played Cave's Valley outside of Baltimore a few weeks back, probably the nicest course I've ever played. The greens were faster than the Bethpage greens during the week of the PGA event there. Almost crazy fast, meaning the caddy would tell you to hit it 2 feet even if it was a 12 foot putt...the ball rolled all day long.

The course was great and it taught you a ton about where to put the ball on the green and how to play it short and roll/bounce onto the green vs. landing direct.

There were holes where you would have rather been anywhere else but above the hole...couldn't stop it regardless of how soft you hit it.

50 degrees and sunshine today, got in nine this afternoon with Mrs. P on her birthday. No Penn State games this weekend so it's a bonus day and more nice weather tomorrow.

Heading to NC this weekend, will get in a round Friday afternoon.

I'm in one of those funks where I have enough comfort with my 3 wood that I'm hitting it straighter and almost as far as the driver...funny how right now I'm gripping the driver too hard to ensure proper release and losing 30 yards. 3 wood, no worries, nice easy swing and the result is acceptable...will be playing with a few people for small dollars and might have to go with the 3 to ensure I'm not giving up any strokes even if I give up 20 yards.

Today wasn't as nice as Sunday, but my game was. One birdie, six pars on aerated greens, two missed fairways and just one bad hole (stop decelerating on your wedge shots! :mad:)

Question is --- where was this game all summer long??? :D

Sunshine and 50 on Wednesday, so the season continues. Too bad I have to work tomorrow. :rolleyes:

I love living in Florida and being able to golf year round :) Just wish I was here more instead of working on the boat all the time.

Shot 99 today (46-53). Meh, when I only golf a few rounds then take 4 weeks off, I can't expect much. Below 100 is good, 90 or below is a great round for me. Hopefully getting another round in tomorrow morning before I fly back to work.

heading to HHI after work tomorrow. set for 36 thurs-fri-sat then 18 on sunday before heading home.
