Anyone watching this on MSNBC? Watching Schultz and O'Donnell duke it out was awesome.

Just about over -- 96% in

I met Ed Schulz once...that is the nicest thing I can say about that crackpot.

Romney is gonna walk away with this nomination and it is sad. I dont want two frauds running for office that is boring! I want the crazy...VOTE SANTORUM ****IT!!

The selection show won't be until the Spring.

Not me. Not one delegate is getting chosen and Iowans have a tendency to pick the wrong person. NH and Sooper Tuesdae will be the 1st cut line.

This does not count. This does not count. This does not count.

So...how many delegates are being chosen?

For something so meaningless, you seem to be giving it an awful lot of attention. ;)

Call me crazy, but Mittster's eyes during this speech totally make it look like he's been smoking pot.

That's a fake Rick Santorum account, but you all knew that. ;)

Between that and Paul getting his own tweet deleted by his own IT folks because they thought it was a hack, I don't know what's real any more.

Re: 2012 Elections Pt II: Bachmann Turned Me Into a Newt! A Newt?

If you take five minutes to skim the entire account, it's all similar double entendres.

EDIT: Not to mention it's clearly prefixed "Fake" at the top.

Days spent in Iowa: Romney 20, Santorum, 106, Paul 46, Gingrich 57, Perry 35, Bachmann, 78
Well, if nothing else, I guess this shows it's important to torture our presidential candidates. :p

Re: 2012 Elections Pt II: Bachmann Turned Me Into a Newt! A Newt?

Fox News reporting that Romney will win by 14 votes.

Edit: Later changed to 8 votes.

Pawlenty has to be kicking himself now. There's pretty obviously a sizable anti-Romney sentiment and he'd give off the vibe of being less bat-**** crazy than Santorum.

Thanks Iowa straw poll!

Today would be the day for Huntsman to say, "Hey, you want to beat this guy, I'm your only chance." But I don't think it would get him anywhere. Here's hoping though.

Bachmann not going to South Carolina, calling a press conference for 10 o' clock.

It wasn't her turn. You never get the GOP nod the first time out. 4 years from now she's your President.

Best part of the night was Gingrich announcing that he was going to do Santorum's Romney dirty work for him. Awesome. Romney is going to be a bloody mess when everything is done.

Re: 2012 Elections Pt II: Bachmann Turned Me Into a Newt! A Newt?

First of all I'd like to extend my condolences to Kepler as Ron Paul got smoked by The Mittster and....Rick Sanitarium. When you're even too crazy for a GOP primary, its time to check yourself into the nearest clinic.

Some other thoughts:

1) A win's a win, but 8 votes over Rick freakin' Santorum? Yikes. I think the guy's budget was 5 bucks vs millions for Romney. When Perry and Bachmann mercifully quit, those voters are going to Anybody But Mitt. His campaign should keep propping up Paul to capture a lot of those.

2) I thought of this yesterday, and saw an article today. What happened to the idea of energized, raging, right wing conservatives coming out in droves in the primaries due to a desire to send Obama packing? Not only did they have the same turnout as before, but Paul's strong showing inflated those #'s as he brought out a lot of people who will only be voting for him.

I think 1) is overstated. Romney also spent the least amount of time in Iowa, while Santorum basically lived there. If money mattered, Perry should have done a lot better.

2) though is pretty spot on, I think.
