2012 D2 Football thread: Every day I'm shuffling!!!

Re: 2012 D2 Football thread: Every day I'm shuffling!!!

Well, so much for having to worry about St. Cloud State the Giant Killers. Just the sandbagging bastages for Northwest Missouri.

Northwest Missouri looks to be a juggernaut and I expect them to keep rolling.

Yeah, it's pretty much NWMSU's title to lose. GVSU has been one hell of a lucky streak, but the bearcats have way too much firepower for them to overcome.

Still, I am starting to make plans to be there at the NC game, just in case the lakers do pull off a win Saturday.

Those soccer stadium sightlines look great for football. :p

True, but Braly Stadium, for all the effort that the Shoals Community puts into hosting the championship game, is still pretty much a high end HS stadium. There's been some upgrade things that the NCAA and ESPN have wanted to see, which they just can't do. parking and tailgating around the stadium is kind of limited as its right in a neighborhood. Hell, one of the grandest traditions of going to that game is peeing behind the gas station just across from the main entrance. There's a hill that has a few bushes so its not just out in the open.

Kansas City has a ton of hotel space, other stuff to do for those fans who don't just wanna go to the game, and you can get decent flights to it as well. Heck, one could probably take a train there as well if you wanted to. It's got a lot of MIAA fanbases there in KC, so it should always have a good turnout there, even if they get stuck with a team that's not likely to travel to well. Nobody's expecting winner of the West Chester Lenoir-Rhyne matchup to really travel well.

Throw all that in along with the fact that North Alabama has been trying to move up to D1, well, a move was needed. Not many other decent sized stadiums out there that are going to look full for a game out there that would be willing to put this game on sadly.

well, guess I don't have to worry about trying to plan a college style roadtrip for myself next weekend. :(:(:(

**** dirty, mangy, stinking, bearcats!!!

I would absolutely astonished if they lost next week. I think it's pretty clear that they are the best team in the country this season.

True, but don't tell their fans that. After going 4 for 4 the buffalo bill way, they're a little gunshy about thinking that they're going to win the national championship game.

And the Bearcats face Lenoir-Rhyne. Can't see how this goes any way other than a Bearcat win, possibly by a sizable margin.

Ah D2 Football. It's always a title game with one team I've heard of against a team I've never heard of.

Heck, that at least puts you ahead of the rest of the unwashed masses that will watch the game this Saturday at Noon EST on ESPN 2. LRU is an old school option team that doesn't go to the air much if they can help it. The bearcats shut that down and its going to be a long day for the bears. But, given NWMSU's past with not being able to finish off an opponent in the NC game, anything's possible in this matchup. Hell, most of D2F figured that the Bearcats had title all but wrapped up in 2008, that would be the year that they would finally break their NC game loss streak. Myself personally had UMD pegged to give em a good game, but would fall short. Just goes to show how much the "experts" really know. ;)

17-0 already NWMSU. In FCS action, NDSU looks well on their way to a third straight title as they demolished UNH last night in the semis.

Kudos to the Bearcats. They took care of business every step of the way.

Props to LRU as well. Their QB who had started the past 5 games for them sprained his ankle thursday and didn't play. They looked like they was going to get overwelmed by the Bearcats, but they made some adjustments and kept things interesting for everybody. Just too bad they didn't make those adjustments earlier.

Not sure if there is going to be a new thread or not this year..

Was awesome to see the Mavericks destroy St. Cloud tonight 31-0. The Kit stays in Mankato and the defense looked NASTY.

I meant it doesn't make the return trip home..I suppose if we wanna talk technicalities to make you feel better that's okay.;)

Gotcha, fair enough:) St. Cloud is my secondary team when it comes to D2 Football, UMD is first, so I still feel good. It was great to see that Kolstad led the Mavs onto the field in front of over 6000 fans. I already thought expectations were a bit too high for SCSU after losing Klaphake and Moro. We'll see how they rebound.

It was cool. They didn't mark the 20 yard lines this year, only the 22 yard lines. Pretty neat stuff.

MSU looked dominant in all phases.. The lines on both sides of the ball were fantastic. Interested to see if they can make a real run at a title.
