2012 D1 BCS thread

Re: 2012 D1 BCS thread

Mike Pereira, former NFL ref, etc. said the play was never blown dead, should have been a TD. Just heard him on a show in Boston as he comes on once a week. The replay official, unlike the on field refs, was not a Pac 12 ref. It was a Big East ref.

He's still full of brown smelly stuff.

Augmenting my earlier refutation, there's a frame-by-frame analysis that shows pretty convincingly that the play had been blown dead before the ball broke the plane. (I'm not sure if that's the original publication of the photo, it's the first thing that came up when I googled it.)

Re: 2012 D1 BCS thread

I remember seeing the line judge running in towards the pile, but he didn't signal. He was running in to get a better look.

Notre Dame has a history of getting calls, so it's not really all that surprising, but it's fun to debate. I'm just glad it didn't happen against my team.

Almighty Iowa Running Back Hating God, AIRBHG strikes again. Mark Weisman isn't listed on the two deeps for PSU this weekend. *Sigh*

Like all of us, I have a friend who is a D1 ref...the third/fourth effort at the end zone never happened as the ref coming in from the side was the indication he had ended the play. Doesn't matter if people heard the whistle or not...only replay review was to determine if player was already in end zone at the time ref indicated play was dead. He wasn't, so it wasn't.

Re: 2012 D1 BCS thread

Well, that was ugly last night. 43-7 Oregon with over 11 minutes left in the second quarter. Of course ASU held them scoreless for the final 40+ minutes! :D

Re: 2012 D1 BCS thread

All you rodent fans, one of my very good friends, and a highly talented high school QB is going to start his career in Canp Randall today. Couldn't be more excited or happy for him. I disagree with Kill's decision to burn the redshirt, but he knows the team better than we do. It'll be a tough task to go into the stadium he had season tickets at until 5th grade.(his dad was a FB for the Badgers)

Big day in Iowa City! Looking to move to 3-0 in B1G play. I'm nervous but all in all excited for a fantastic day of tailgating, sunshine, and the unbeatable atmosphere of a night game at Kinnick Stadium. It should be awesome!
Go Hawks!

Re: 2012 D1 BCS thread

I'm hoping for a win so UMICH can stop bringing up football like it's relevant to hockey in the D1 Forum. Well, that and about the only way to turn this season around is to win today.

GO STATE! BEAT MICHIGAN!

At least Kill isn't throwing him into the fire. Anxious to see how he does, supposed to be a great kid as well as a great player.

Really? Seems like that mgoblue guy is worse. Taunting minny for losing last night was a pretty low point.

Purdue must have really broken Braxton Miller. They're loading him up in the ambulance.

Re: 2012 D1 BCS thread

I saw the hit. My initial guess was that it's either it's a severe concussion, or broken ribs.

OK OK, settle down now. It might be nice and all, but there are better atmospheres than Kinnick.
