The only ones I feel bad for are the seniors. The sanctions came out about three weeks before the season. Extremely difficult or near impossible to transfer, learn a new system, and play your way into a starting lineup that fast. The underclassmen though, well, they knew what was coming, they could've gotten out.

Uh, ya...it's not about being able to get out. To me, that has absolutely nothing to do with me feeling bad for a kid who single handedly loses a game for his team. These kids shouldn't be looked down upon because they decided to stay. That doesn't make any sense to me. Don't get me wrong, I'm not rooting for Penn State to win, but in this particular instance I was rooting for this individual kid. Plus, nobody else probably wanted this kicker to begin with.

Really? Because if it was me, I would have left. There is no honor in supporting a dishonorable organization.

You act like all of Penn State football and the entire school from students and faculty are somehow complicit in this.
There absolutely is honor in staying when you have done nothing wrong knowing that people like you are going to hammer them for it like they are the ones molesting children.
Those players and the current staff haven't done anything wrong and don't deserve scorn because they chose to be loyal to their school.

But the school deserves it. They play football representing the school, they signed up for top level ball which means they ought to have thick skin, so I'm not feeling bad for them.

Certain people who were at the school deserve it.
The entire school did not attempt to cover child molestation.
The players who chose to stay don't deserve a "Pedo State" label, and I don't think the players who chose to bail should be commended for leaving.

I was pulling for him to make it too. What a rough day and I feel for him just like I would any kid in that situation playing for any team.

Consdiering how few will go on to pro football, they are still getting a Penn State education. Which is the scholarship part of college sports. That's not too bad, if you ask me- I know plenty of people who would love to have free college education, with room and board, and be the highlight of the school in the Fall, even if you never play a down.

The kicker would never go pro- what's the point of walking away from 3 or 4 years of education and trying to finish it somewhere else, when you have little to gain by it?

OTOH, Penn State did do a great job of showing us how people think that entertainment is so darned important over the education part of universities....

I agree with DX. I hope they lose every game. The school deserves every bit of anger thrown towards it, not the people. Those people have chosen to stay affiliated with that institution that does deserve it, so no sympathy from me.

That seems a bit knee-jerk, unless there is something I'm missing. It seems like they have generally had really good o-lines for many years...

Most of their past offensive staff is in Pittsburgh right now. These are new guys.

Their o-line has been absolutely pitiful for the first two games. Serves as a good reminder what a great running game is really about, despite what you might think when you watch SportsCenter and play fantasy football. Ball is a dynamo with a good offensive line, hasn't done squat with one that can't perform.

So Wisconsin has lost three (?) coaches from last year, plus Russell Wilson? It's still early, but not shaping up to be a good year for them. Good thing they only have to beat out three mediocre teams for the division.

It would reflect quite poorly on the Big Ten if Wisconsin has any success in conference play.

I believe that this past weekend's results reflected poorly on the B1G.
