Like I said you have never been to the Yost or Berry because it is much worse, if you are the visiting fans be ready for anything, and don't be offended easily, so you should stay at the Sully that way you're never the visiting fan, except when UAF is in the house.

Agreed with birdman.

It's even like that in the WCHA. I went to a Gopher vs. Seawolves game like 2 years back while I was visiting family in Minnesota and there was a kid there minding his own business but he was wearing a tie-dye Alaskan Grown sweater. The crowd all stood up, pointed to him and chanted *****HOLE *****HOLE.

Did they physically touch him??? that is the issue we had in the carlson, not being called an *******. verbal abuse is all fine with me, but if you come up and physically lay a finger on someone or there property that is crossing the line no matter who you root for and someone is gonna end up in the hospital. I have been to other arenas to watch UAA play and got a lil heckling but no one put there hands on me. Only at the carlson.

if the Carlson security person filled out a report then you could get a copy from the admin at the sully. Or they can explain to you why He failed to make out an incident report. You also could ask to see a copy of their handbook that explains to the security how to deal with assault and reporting to their supervisor and or the police. Bring your police report and all your witness statements. Same company, same rules. Start at the top of the ladder it's more fun that way.

And IceAngel, there is a big difference in being called an *hole and physical violence. And you know what would've happen to that kid in the sweater if he talked to the people calling him an *hole?

They'd have bought him a drink.

FAIRBANKS — Michigan State hockey head coach Rick Comley reportedly was involved in a physical confrontation Friday night in the Carlson Center with Alaska Nanooks fans Robert Downes, a Fairbanks Superior Court judge, and his daughter, attorney Amy Tallerico.

The article in the State Journal also stated Comley reportedly got into a confrontation with two fans and was shoved while he was preparing to do a postgame radio interview. Adam Nightingale, Michigan State director of hockey operations, and volunteer coach Rob Woodward broke up the incident and whisked Comley to safety in the locker room.

“I think the security guys do a great job here,” Karr said, “but we decided to make sure that we didn’t have a similar incident.”

Well done Forrest!! There indeed seems to be a trend in _airbanks. And thanks for reminding us how stupid the UAA mascot is, we all agree with you. But at least he knows the difference between a hockey and basketball game. ;)

You misinterpreted what you saw. In reality, I was frantically trying to keep his shirt down. For the children, you see. THINK OF THE CHILDREN.

And suze, yes, the bodysuits apparently increase bravery... I thought that was a bit vulgar but whatever, it's a hockey game. I can only hope and assume that whoever the "victim" was, knew the perpetrator because they seemed to enjoy it.

For the record, I don't really object to the beer-belly UAA guy I'm "complaining" about. More power to that brave brave man. I just dont understand why there wasn't at least some kind of message or logo on his stomach.

And JJ, I'm sorry but it sounds like sour grapes to me. I understand you are offended, but I can't muster up much sympathy here. For what... 3 or 4 years you've taken the same sign up here and waved it in fans faces without an issue? It's clever, I like it, but maybe you shouldn't have been waving it around after losing for the third year in a row... it seems like asking for trouble and surprise: you found it. Your sign got ripped up. I'm absolutely not condoning what happened to you, but I'm with birdie on this one man, suck it up. Make us suffer with a new better one next year?

On the other hand, I am obviously happy it wasn't a move severe incident, and share your worries about violence at a sporting event. It doesn't belong there (at least, outside the glass). At the same time, isolated incidents such as this are inevitable. So long as they remain minor and isolated, I don't see much that can be done.

Like the person on the internet who wanted to know where I sat at the Sullivan because he wanted to come visit and presumably commit violence on my person and then never showed up after I told him exactly where i sat? Who was that birdman? I'm sure you remember who asked me that.

I'm here, I don't know who or what you are or where you sit, and really I don't care. You Anchorage trolls always take you're losses very hard and this is no exception. Remember the players shake hands after the game, maybe the fans should try that. Personally I am too busy to play your games, bye bye.
