2012-13 NHL Thread. Fehr Thee Well??

Re: 2012-13 NHL Thread. Fehr Thee Well??

If it IS the proposed format from last year, I'm dissappointed because that puts 16 teams in the "West" and 14 in the "East." Even the MLB is moving away from unbalanced non-sense by making it 15/15.

If Seattle is a viable market, and the Yotes move there, it's still 16/14. Move the Yotes to Quebec, add Seattle and Hamilton, 8's across the conferences.
Both will go to 32. It's money in the owners' pockets and more dues for the PA's.

But then, every day there will be two teams that aren't playing baseball games! Oh, the tragedy!

Re: 2012-13 NHL Thread. Fehr Thee Well??

"Interleague" month (May/June) is over. Interleague games will happen all season long now (like in the NHL).

Interleague is dumb. I don't want to have to face teams that have a problem with anyone who is on the field needing to swing the bat.

But enough about the Tigers catcher situation. :D

Arena football was made awful once they started allowing that free substitution. Baseball's mid-inning substitution of a player is pathetic. At least hockey will remain a two-way game for the players.

Really, the DH is your big complaint about baseball? If it is, baseball must be doing pretty well overall.

What the heck did you think I meant by everyone who is on the field needs to swing the bat?!
I knew what you meant, obviously. I'm just saying its not really that big of an issue. It's about as important to me as the varying ground rules and dimensions at the different ballparks. Which is to say, not at all.

Bought GCL. 5 years of archived games is amazing. The 360 App is out, by the way. Gonna HDCapture the past 5 years of games for the B's I think.

The Center Ice package is free until the end of this month, and then four payments of $14.99 for games through April 27. DirecTV says the broadcast schedule will be released tomorrow. I'll wait to see how many Leafs broadcasts are scheduled - might save $60 if the NHL does what it has done in the past by not airing Canadian-based broadcasts.

Wade Redden is a genius as it turns out. He gets bought out by the Rangers, a playoff team for sure, and then signs with what many believe to be the cup front runners in St. Louis.

They definitely don't do it enough. All of the French in know I learned from watching the Montreal feed. :)

I love my Gophers more than anything else hockey, but I am jazzed for the NHL to kick it in tomorrow.
