Re: 2012-13 NHL Thread. Fehr Thee Well??

Islanders supposedly will finish their lease which expires in 2015 in Nassau Coliseum and then move to Brooklyn. Press conference at 1PM today at Barclay's Center. That is a big F U to Nassau County and the Town of Hempstead who have blocked owner Charles Wang's efforts to replace the aging Nassau Coliseum owned by the county. Get it ready for the wrecking ball.

Well, they blocked it so they obviously didn't want the team anymore.

2018 - NY Penn Station....
"Is Brooklyn is still in the league?"

Can't take credit for this, but

Rick DiPietro has been ruled out for the 2015 season after contracting tetanus by bumping into the exterior of the Barclays Center.

Tweet of the day! :D

I can't take credit for this one:

It makes perfect sense for the Islanders to play in Brooklyn, since the only way to root for them is ironically.

Reports that November 20 is the drop dead date to avoid cancellation of the Winter Classic.

Re: 2012-13 NHL Thread. Fehr Thee Well??

One would think that the NHL Network (US) would show live hockey instead of replays. Maybe even a studio show. Show the AHL, college, and Major Junior at least 2x during the week and on the weekends. At least we'd get a hockey fix.

Right now, I would guess nobody is watching.

I would guess that it isn't in the NHL Network's interest to give us our hockey fix, but, rather, to make us all believe that there isn't any hockey worth watching if the NHL isn't playing.
