Big doin's in Markham, ONT city council tonight on the proposed 20,000 seat arena. What looked like a slam dunk now has Wilt Chamberlain in the room. The pro and anti forces are lining up. Would love to be a fly in the room.

Paul Kelly said that the NHL told him that there would be expansion to 32 teams. Comcast Spectator told the council that they'd cover any operational losses.

Guess it's TSN Toronto tomorrow for the gory details.

I, for one, welcome our new NHL teams in Quebec City, Quebec; Markham, Ontario; and Seattle, Washington.


Take your pick to who gets the Phoenix Coyotes.

If they are talking expansion then they are... Well... As dumb as I think they are.

Let the appropriate southern markets fail and let's move on.

Exactly. This time let the bottom fall out and the market will correct itself.

I concur. There needs to be more hate in Quebec, a good rivalry between Seattle and Vancouver, and the battle of TO. Wonder if the Waxers will win the Cup before the Leafs?

I do love the Wild top line, but they (koivu) need to stop being so unselfish - they pass up a lot of good shots just to get that last pass.
