2012-13 D1 Scores and Results

Re: 2012-13 D1 Scores and Results

Still scoreless after two in Mankato. The offenses picked up the pace in the second period...a few exciting moments but the goaltenders still not overly challenged yet. Black back in net today for UMD.

Re: 2012-13 D1 Scores and Results

MSU 1 UMD 0 with 8:26 left in the 3rd on a turnover by UMD! And Jasper just hit the crossbar on a feed from Wong!

Re: 2012-13 D1 Scores and Results

Cornell beats BU 5-2, with an empty net goal. Nice to see two freshmen (Zorn and Woods) get their first NCAA goals.

Even though BU lost, that was a really entertaining game! Cornell's D is scary good - absolutely all over the ice, blocking shots and passes and also just really poised. Cornell or Minny have probably the two top D corps in the nation but I guess that's why they're ranked #1 and #2. Hopefully tomorrow is a competitive, entertaining game as well.

Re: 2012-13 D1 Scores and Results

RIT beats Yale 3-0. Full value for the win. Pretty good weekend for them as they played Princeton even and outplayed Yale. Penn State is next.

Re: 2012-13 D1 Scores and Results

NoDak 1, St. Cloud State 0. JLam with the game's only goal. Jorid Dagfinrud needed only 19 saves for the shutout. SCSU was 0-for-6 on the power play.

PC pulling away from Vermont, 4-1 in the 3rd.
BU getting revenge on Cornell, 3-1 midway in the 3rd.
BC on top of UNH 2-1.
UW hasn't scored in ten straight periods.

Re: 2012-13 D1 Scores and Results

BU leads Cornell 5-1. Great response to last night's loss. BTW, BU drew 1,891 for their game at Agganis last night. Not bad!

Re: 2012-13 D1 Scores and Results

BC pulling away as Skarupa finds the empty net, 5-2 over UNH.

Re: 2012-13 D1 Scores and Results

Yeah, both shooters for UW scored, neither shooter for Bemidji did.

Re: 2012-13 D1 Scores and Results

Cornell defeats St. Lawrence 5-1 and held a 25-17 shots on goal advantage. Fulton and Zorn lead the way with two goals each. Jenner also chipped one in.

My brother played at SLU and we have gone summers to the St Lawrence River for many years- try, since 1926? Too, I'm not sure how understanding some of you Bostonaise / NY City area fans are as to what the real north country brings winterwise...actually believe you are mostly in the dark as to this. So, maybe, it was with more pleasure, therefore, that I watched the Larries...make some new believers last season. Especially in Ithaca, say. Whoop!

I Hope they can get it going this season as well. Ranked initially at seven (nationally). And they have commenced play with challenges- two w. Knights, two w. Minnesota and then the Big Red. Yes, have yet to shine.

Dartmouth impressed some in their exh. against McGill (5-0); caused them to get a nod on the College Hockey O.L. poll, I think. We see how it goes at Princeton and in Connecticut at Quinnipiac this week.

Sasha Nanji is back at defense; aggressive and all over the ice. G e t s it done! Got four points versus McGill. Have new freshman, Stacey- two goals and (fairly) highly rated (Team Canada under 22, I am remembering correctly I hope) plus Camille Dumais back (two goals)- last season' s leading scorer. Too, Reagan Fischer, third leading scorer in 2011/12 w. Nanji just behind her for posting assists-goals last year. Lyndsay Holdcroft third season in net as well as two, maybe, backups- including freshman, Katie Milligan, from Kingston and Ottawa Lady Senators.

Ten (10!) seniors including the, in my mind, if I may, incomparable Jenna Hobeika, (Co) Captain who...makes you wonder, take notice (I think) as this player persists, hangs on, advances her piece-the team's piece, to the last whistle. Does all of those for me and whoever will go watch Green with me (few).

Coach Hudak is (greatly...) well liked in Hanover and here in Norwalk.

I played lacrosse at Dartmouth with some respectability. Eddie Jeremiah, though- somewhat legendary men's ice hockey coach, cut me on the first freshman (tryout) cut list. Yes, new Tack's. But that really wasn't why. This team eventually won the Ivy League. That wasn't it either.
