I imagine that the Super Rink has to have ice year round also, and with as many sheets as they have I'd be surprised if they were completely booked for a weekend in April, unless there is a youth tournament there or something like that.

A driving question- anyone heading through SE MI both ways, and can carry equipment?
I will be there for the FF and would like to attend another Posters game. AS yet I haven't decided to drive or fly. My Dad and I drove to Denver so I don't think driving is out of the question. I'll be leaving from Lansing but work in SE Mich. I could pick up equipment (not more than 1 hockey bag, ok maybe 2) the week of if I do decide to drive. It may be a while before I know for sure which mode I use to get there.
I wouldn't propose Braemar for this one either. I actually live closer to St. Louis Park and Richfield than to Braemar. Plenty of better options. I'm going to call St. Thomas soon, that's a good rink and easy for most to get to.
A drive would still be required, though that's probably an inevitability at this point.
In that case, lets book the Ralph. As a side note- if the rink is nice, people will drive. Last year, Ann Arbor is ~40 miles from Detroit, and we got players from all over the area. Make it good, have fun- don't worry *too* much about the drive. Being concerened about it is fine....
Do they have good ice? Who cares what the building is like if the ice sucks. In that case, lets book the Ralph.

Richfield hadn't crossed my mind but I played there all last summer as well, and like Roseville, the ice was always in really good shape. Besides that, Rink 1 is complete old school and just a really neat place to play.
That said, being the DIII whore that I am I can't believe I didn't think of STA right away, but I'd pick it as my frontrunner. The location is pretty reasonable for those in town for the FF and it's a pretty darn nice arena. A drive would still be required, though that's probably an inevitability at this point.
Should I admit I'm somewhat partial to the idea of playing at Drake? I mean, it was good enough for Hamline for three years so why not for some DI fans? Let them get the full experience of changing into their gear in some particle board clownboxes while walking to the lobby restrooms to take a leak alongside the general public at intermission. I mean...what more could you want?

Plus, I doubt they skimped on the ice-making capabilities in that facility.
