2011 Posters' Game - St Paul

Re: 2011 Posters' Game - St Paul

So, should I plant myself at the end of the rink so we can have photographic proof of any goals? ;)

I probably will roam, though, unlike in Denver, where I stayed in the penalty box.

Re: 2011 Posters' Game - St Paul

Not Breck. Apparently Minnesotans don't play hockey after March. Get some freakin' AC.

What's that about? In years past, I've played a lot of summer ice times at Breck. Granted, the ice has been a little soft during the summer months, but it's been there. In fact, last year one of my coworkers told me that he tried booking ice time for his hockey camp there last summer, but was told that it had been all booked out to other hockey camps and groups already.

A lot of places that have more than one rink will only leave one surface up for the summer, but Breck only has the one ice rink. Besides that, what does Breck have to do with STA?

Re: 2011 Posters' Game - St Paul

We need to make sure all players have their screen name written on tape and put on the front of their helmet. I need to know who to cheap shot. :D

The other day, I actually thought about doing this as a joke. Then I realized that it should be easy enough to pick out the tall guy who sucks. :)

Edit: If goldy posted it and I missed it, my apologies, but is noon Saturday official now?

Not yet. I am still working with Bill at St. Thomas to finalize the exact time. I should know later today. There was a slight scheduling glitch.

Re: 2011 Posters' Game - St Paul

Starting to get nervous... Last time I "PLAYED" in this event(St.Louis) I forgot to take one of my blade guards off... When I hit the ice--I actually HIT THE ICE!!! :)

Re: 2011 Posters' Game - St Paul

LOL!! I haven't played in over a year, I could hit the ice without guards.
Hey goldy, are you ok on numbers? I haven't been following too closely, I could see if Patrick wants to skate if you're light.

Some nice additions this time; it's going to be a great game. It makes me even sorrier that I'm not available to play this year!

We're hoping to pick up a few players from the participating schools, now that the regionals are complete. There's still space!

I will continue to update this on-line roster for the rest of the week. After that, only bostonewe's official list will be updated. If you haven't emailed your information yet, please send it to bostonewe@gmail.com. After Friday, this will be the only way to get on the list.

I've heard from EvilGoalie, but not con or alfa. If they wouldn't mind shooting me an email. I'll update MNS as a definite. Edit - I have Slap Shot and HuskyNation on other lists (not on the definites), if they could just email me what their status is, that would be great.

I haven't heard any mention of interest in being a ref.

I'm still a probable, but my friend that played last year, Jeff should be added as a probable as well. He doesn't post, but would like to play if possible.

Our main issue is trying to get our gear there as my car may be full of people for the trip now.

We might have some room, wT, depending on how much gear you're talking about.
And 'ewe, I'll try to have HN e-mail you, but he's not always good about that sort of thing. He is definite, though. :)

I'll bet my peewee/bantam would like to ref.:D He has the real dark glasses and white cane to go with the ref shirt.

Jeff has been added to the on-line probables list.

Also note that the D-1 thread is now up. If the other organizers want to chime in with a few details, that would be great. If nothing else, it will help keep that thread near the top of the list for a while.

For everyone else, there's no need to reply to the D-1 thread. That's just an effort to reach players who don't usually make it to the Cafe -- particularly fans from the FF participating schools.

Re: 2011 Posters' Game - St Paul

OK, bad news time. I messed up on the St. Thomas ice and failed to hold it. :o:o:o:o Sorry everyone.

We are at Augsburg instead. Another DIII program. All the St. Paul rinks were either full, or closed for any time comparable. Up until today I was working with St. Thomas and thought I could regain that time, but it fell through.

We have ice at Augsburg Rink B from 11:45 AM to 2:00 PM with a required resurface in the middle (at least us out-of-shape types can catch our breath then). Parking will be a little harder as the campus lots will be charging then, but there is some on-street available. I think it'll still be a good time, but the logistics will be a little harder. Augsburg is 7.5 miles from the X, about 12 minutes drive time.
Directions

Hope we don't lose too many skaters due to this change.
