2011 NHL Playoffs IV: Rome is Burning

Re: 2011 NHL Playoffs IV: Rome is Burning

I don't think Horton has any past history with concussions, so hopefully his recovery is speedy and relatively complication free. Hopefully we see him at the start of the year.

I hope he's back for the start of the year as well. When I saw the hit last night I though he'd be back by the start of the year 2019. That hit could have enrolled Horton in the Massachusetts Home For Perpetual Droolers. Rome is getting off lightly with a four game suspension, even if the four games are the finish to this year's Stanley Cup finals.

Burrows made his bed with that incident. Players are gonna be offering him fingers for the rest of his career.

A friend told me, he say that the new head of discipline has told Refs to call 2 minutes for unsportsmanlike conduct and a 10 min misconduct for anymore finger taunting.

If only there was a penalty for actually biting someone.

So will Ballard be in, or Alberts? If hope it is Ballard, so we get to see some more hip-checking and own-goalie slashing.

Oh, and broom throwing. He has many talents.

I've said this before... making the NHL look stupid is a bigger offense than the orginal action. See: Avery, Sean.

I want to see the following sign:

Black outlined letters... gold/yellow fill for the 7 and the 8 or just the 8.

Re: 2011 NHL Playoffs IV: Rome is Burning

This must be the bravery the Canucks fans showed:

Milan Lucic has been the man of the hour throughout the Stanley Cup playoffs, as he hails from Vancouver and plays for the Bruins. He had plenty of family in attendance for the first two games of the series at Rogers Arena, but when asked Tuesday to address the rowdiness of Boston fans, noted that his family had a tough time in Vancouver.

A Vancouver reporter asked Lucic about the way Boston fans treat out-of-towners, saying that Vancouver natives had phoned his station saying they were verbally abused, among other things, by Bostonians after Game 3.

“It’s funny they say that,” a suddenly fired-up Lucic began, “because I remember after Game 1, people in Vancouver throwing popcorn and peanuts at my grandparents. That’s almost as low as it gets as that goes. They’re my grandparents. They’re in their sixties. If there is anyone you should show respect to, it’s them.

According to Puck Daddy it wasn't the "New Head" of discipline, it was the acting head who said it. It was Mike Murphy who made that statement. You may remember Mike's kid a little better.

KC, Texas, or Carolina style???

First of all, the real old school Texas BBQ joints don't use sauce, or didn't traditionally anyway.

So we are down to KC or Carolina. This is a good question. KC is much more gloppy, thick, and viscous, which could smear all over the place. Meanwhile, Carolina style sauce is much thinner, allowing it to seep into the fibers of the fabric very quickly...

I forget what we are talking about because I am hungry.

Re: 2011 NHL Playoffs IV: Rome is Burning

I'm guessing you saw that they renamed the Boston Pizza logo on the boards in Vancouver. If not, check it out next game there.

Yeah, I know. That's what I was referring to. When I was in Vacouver and went to the game, I took a picture of the concession cuz I thought it was funny.

They should get Alex Burrows to do a commercial just to troll every Boston fan on the planet.

Re: 2011 NHL Playoffs IV: Rome is Burning

1. Rome should be banned for life for that hit.
2. Sux2BU lets the Canucks practice at their rink? Yet another reason to hate them.
3. "Boston Pizza" got renamed? We should do the same thing here. Oh wait, nothing is named after Vancouver, nor should it be.

Re: 2011 NHL Playoffs IV: Rome is Burning

You're pretty much the poster child for what we point at when Scarlet wonders why everyone hates Boston area teams, aren't you?

Re: 2011 NHL Playoffs IV: Rome is Burning

Ilya Bryzgalov's traded to the Flyers. Can Philly sign him, and finally get a decent goalie?
