Re: 2011 NHL Playoffs III: History Will Be Made

Truth be told, this game was a lot closer than I thought. These two teams are very evenly matched, and the series might come down to plays like what happened in the last 18 seconds. Boston should have taken a time out, and their play to clear was lazy; it cost them. Overall, both teams played really well in regards to defense, special teams, and in the offensive zone. Vancouver carried play in the third, but T squared came up big again. Letting him out to dry was an outright tragedy, as he kept that game from being 2-0 or 3-0. Oddly enough, Luango at the other end did the same thing.

Some soft penalties going both ways. Glad it didn’t determine the game. Shocked at how passive the canuks PK is. Tampa was all over attacking our puck carriers, while Vancouver was content staying back. Boston got some good chances, and they’ll get a few in next game at this rate.

Tough loss, but what a match up. Two great clubs playing their best. This goes to 6 or god forbid for my health, 7…

I wouldn't say either team played their best last night. Far too many penalties (12 PP), dives, etc. I also didn't think the defense was that great as the teams had 30+ shots each and quite a few were quality. Although some of that can be attributed to powerplays.

No penalties in the 3rd was more the refs swallowing the whistle than clean play.

It was closer than I thought, too. Boston showed a lot of respect for Vancouver's speed, but at the expense of forechecking / possession. They played really well in their defensive end for most of the game, which was good because that's where most of the game was. Especally in the 3rd.

They're going to need to win offensive zone faceoffs and score in transition. And they'll need to score power play goals.

First two times Vancouver in the SCF, game 1 goes to OT. If I wasn't worried before (which I absolutely was), now I most definitely am.

That was a heck of a hockey game, regardless of the dives and the rest. How some people prefer basketball is beyond me.

Love how the four letter network is only focusing on the Burrows bite and completely forgetting the great game that was played. Figures.

Maybe if LeBron would give his opinion on the series more people would watch.

A majority of the people in the US like scoring and instant gratification.

I think that's a reason why soccer isn't as big in this country and hockey has taken a hit and sunk to where it is in the mainstream media.

Because the four letter network has channeled their inner Joseph Goebbels and done a hell of a propoganda job. :D

Re: 2011 NHL Playoffs III: History Will Be Made

Campbell stepped down a day too early - he would have nailed Burrows' rectum to the locker room door

Which would have proven the CONSPIRACY!
