Nice stat on the postgame on VS. Bruins are the first team ever to win a 7 game series without scoring a single Power Play goal in the series.

That seems like a silly stat. I assume a team has won 6, 5, or 4 game series with a PP goal then? Hell, a big reason it went to seven is because they went -1 on the PP. :D

I wonder if I should snare TB/WSH tickets... I haven't been to a playoff game and I have a rooting interest and I can wear a jersey nobody will catch on to (my ULowell Chiefs shirt).

10.0 for Subban's plunge, Hamrlik's crumble and Wisniewski's whiplash. Some things never change. But, in the end, justice prevailed and the better team won. Even though the Bruins will probably lose this next series, it feels good to at least eliminate that embarrassment from the playoffs.

And the transcript:
“As I was driving from the former seat of all NHL power, Montreal, through the free and independent states of Vermont, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts today, it struck me what an odd thing royalty is.

“Royalty in modern times is something that is perpetuated by those who didn’t actually make those great conquering achievements that established their reigns, but rather those who find themselves, because of a certain location in history and an accident of birth, to be in a position to ‘carry on a tradition.’

“Yet, those ‘royals’ sit there on their shiny thrones and primp in their hand mirrors and try to dictate morality according to them, about how you can dive, or how you should play, or how you shouldn’t run a player into the center glass.

“And the rest of us, those poor filthy masses, are just supposed to take it.

“Well, a couple of hundred years ago, a bunch of rowdy radicals charged out of some Boston bars, went down to the dock, and dumped the King’s tea into the salty sea.

“And in doing that, it struck a chord that rings true even today, that when confronted when imperious conceit, fighting the good fight is not only the right thing to do, it can be a heck of a lot of fun.

“And who has more fun than us?”

And people here complained about Doug Woog when he was announcing. Wow.

CC to Scarlet: I only was rooting for MON because of my playoff pool. I really didn't care who won otherwise. ;)

Wait. what?

Edit: Yeah, a Slovakian ramming a Connecticut guy into the center glass is an expression of true American fighting spirit and independence. What a ****ing moron. He must think the birthplace locations on the rosters are mistakes and every team signs local guys.

Can't believe NESN allows him to do that. I know WEEI will have fun with it in the morning...

Recchi!

Uncovered. 2-0

UNH_GH is going to be p***ed that he missed the first 10 minutes.

You have no idea. I was running up the escalator when Recchi scored.

Still...an OT Game 7 win with a goal by my favorite Bruin?

Best game of my life.

--------

So. Here's the story of my evening.

Was texting a friend who was on the T at around 6:00...mentioning we both want to go to the game, but there's just no way, tickets are much too pricey. But, for kicks, I always look at Craig's List, you can sometimes get amazing deals. I see one for Club Seats for dirt cheap...and ask my friend if she wants to go, and if the price is right. Just as she responds yes, her phone stops working.

I scramble to get her back, as I need to leave my campus at 6:30 to grab the Commuter Rail to Boston. She responds back at 6:20, we buy the tickets, they print at 6:32. I called my friend on campus who was willing to drive me to the Train Station, and we leave campus at 6:35, for a 6:45 train.

I make it to the station as the last person boards, and barely make it on. Train pulls into North Station at 7:18, just as Recchi scores. We sprint up to our seats and watch the game. Happy ending. :)
