Well...do or die for Boston here. Win Game 3, and win it convincingly, and the whole series outlook changes.

Im pretty sure a too many men penalty in the first minute is not a good start.

Re: 2011 NHL Playoffs: Can the goalies be stopped?

Price came up huge on 2 saves there...back to the PK for Boston.

Re: 2011 NHL Playoffs: Can the goalies be stopped?

I'd complain more about the officiating if the Bruins had an actual power play. The less time they play a man up or down, the better.

I know the 52 seconds of PP time and the 2-0 lead aren't related. But it who knows... tee hee.

Ference tried his best to negate a power play there but the Refs werent buying it. Boston will have about 1:57 of PP time to start the 2nd.

Yeah, Montreal's a classy team, in a classy city.
And they play the right way.

No, he tried his best to beat the hell out of a gutless p.o.s. who should be suspended for what he did, and deserved to get the hell beaten out of him. And I hope Wisnewski gets his head ripped off if this game gets out of hand.

I agree. That hit should be reviewable for a suspension for targeting the head. Not saying its worthy of one, Id just like a longer look at it. Kunitz is likely going to sit for 2-5 games.

Re: 2011 NHL Playoffs: Can the goalies be stopped?

One good period, even with the refs clearly calling against Boston on this one. Its almost a joke. Montreal isn't that good, and they weren't the past 2 games. This thing is winnable IF boston plays like that for the rest of the series.

Re: 2011 NHL Playoffs: Can the goalies be stopped?

If Montreal isn't that good, then a Bruins team they've beat 6 of 8 times this year must really suck.

Absolutly, it SHOULD be a suspension, but you just can't tell with the way they pick their suspensions out of a hat.

The Bruins aren't that good of a team, but I'd rather have a bad team than a team full of pu ssies who disgrace the sport, supported by a town of bigger disgraces who jeopardize public safety over a stupid game.

No problem. They just waited for the PP to end.

eta:

And the refs do their best to stop the bleeding by putting Boston right back on the PP.

I call things like they are. Montreal did not look good ( price exception) in games 1 and 2 but boston looked worse. They played poor in every zone, didn't break into the zone well, manage their special teams well, and obviously do anything well. And no, chara's absense is not an excuse. Game 1 was the same story.

I still see montreal winning this series sadly.

to follow that up, thomas has been underwhelming. that was a terrible goal to give up.

Montreal played their game perfectly in the first two games. They got up early and shut the door like they needed to do.

That was another weak goal given up by Thomas though.
