congrats bronconick. Unbelieveable. The Sharks erase a four goal lead and win in OT, 6-5. **** that. Nice play. What a game.

Goodnight folks.

What the I don't even.

Edit: Versus plays the LA Kings 5 goal playoff comeback "History will be made" commercial right after the game. That's cold.

I want/need sleep. But I am NOT shutting this off. And I don't care who wins, really.

I went to bed after the first period. Did I miss something?

Seriously, do the Kings recover from this, or are they toast?

The first ten minutes of game 4 will tell the story. They may very well be roasted. they were much better in the third period, but my goodness, a four goal **** job in the playoffs?!

I went to bed when LA make it 5-2, but I had a job interview this morning, so I guess I had good reason to miss the come back?

Hopefully you're not posting from your Blackberry, at the interview

That would go about as well as last night went for the Kings. :p

Happy to be shilling once again for DGB :D

NHL fans learned something new this week when Colin Campbell revealed the existence of a "hitting zone" behind the net where, apparently, headshots are legal.

This got me to wondering: what else don't we know about the NHL rink? So I dug into my old cartography library, and came up with this original map that lays it all out:

Re: 2011 NHL Playoffs: Can the goalies be stopped?

That is simply amazing. And with the NFL Schedule released yesterday, we can start speculating on Winter Classic 2012!

First things first, January 1st is a Sunday, so does the NHL take on the NFL (assuming there is a season)?

I think so. There are 13 1PM games that day. Have a 5 PM start or something like that.

The Meadowlands, Lincoln Financial Field, Lambeau, Gillette are all booked for the NFL, Yankee Stadium is booked for a bowl game.

So far, we've had:

Pitt @ Buff
Det @ Chi
Philly @ Bos
Wash @ Pitt

No way Washington and Pittsburgh are in two straight, so they are out. I gotta figure the Rangers will be in, as New York hasn't been involved in any. They're an Original 6 club, in a HUGE market. But unless the NHL wants to host at Citi Field (which I doubt), I think if they play it'll be on the road.

Philly/NYR at Beaver Stadium/Citizen's Bank Park?

Yes, Philly was in it recently. But that's a solid rivalry, and both stadiums are open.

What about LA/NYR at the LA Coliseum? Two huge markets. Decent weather, I don't think it would be too hot...it's in the 50s for that time of year usually. If you're worried about going up against the NFL, do a Saturday night start...5 PM Local Time or something.

Most NHL arena's are kept in the mid 60°s anyway, so having 50° temps wouldn't be a bad thing.

We all remember the outdoor pre-season game between the Kings and Rags in the parking lot of the MGM in Vegas... right?

What a surprise....rangers caps go scoreless for the first period for the fourth straight game. Just third time
In playoff history that has happened.
