2011 Minnesota Twins: Yoshi, Pavario, and Big Jim's Quest for 600

Re: 2011 Minnesota Twins: Yoshi, Pavario, and Big Jim's Quest for 600

I don't care if that pitcher is only good for wiping puke off of the bathroom floor at Sneaky Pete's, this is an excellent trade by Billy Smith.

Nelson was a 10th round pick in 2010. He was 5-11 with a 4.87 ERA in 26 appearances for Class-A Lakeland this season.

Check out his place of birth here and all will be clear as to why they traded for him. More proof of Minnesota xenophobia. ;)

You want to trade Liriano now too? So you want to see more of "Five innings and look to the bullpen" Slowey?
No matter what Liriano will not be with the Twins next year, may as well get rid of him now and see if Slowey (and Gardy) have the ability to pull their heads out of their asses.

If he had played hockey anyway...

He's 6'7", 233 pounds, and plays defense (a pitcher is the ultimate defender).
With those dimensions, if he'd have played hockey he'd have ended up a North Dakota defenseman. ;)

What was Nishioka doing *not* covering second?
I was expecting Morneau to come up lame having twisted a knee after having to quickly turn and throw to Pavano (who actually *was* covering the bag he was supposed to).

Delmon in the D hat goes 3 for 4 with a dinger and 2 RBI tonight.
There's the dinger.

I knew it was going to happen, the way Schlereth was pitching to him.

Re: 2011 Minnesota Twins: Yoshi, Pavario, and Big Jim's Quest for 600

Apparently the Twins bullpen is in possession of the ball.

It ended up in the Tiger bullpen, they must have tossed it over to the Twins side. Joe Nathan had it, now Landon Thome (son) has it.

Re: 2011 Minnesota Twins: Yoshi, Pavario, and Big Jim's Quest for 600

Joe Nathan retrieved the ball and Thome's son already has it.

I thought it was pretty cool that Ozzie Guillen was one of the very first on Twitter to tweet #600. He has tweeted about 5 congrats tweets already.
