2011 Minnesota Twins: Yoshi, Pavario, and Big Jim's Quest for 600

Re: 2011 Minnesota Twins: Yoshi, Pavario, and Big Jim's Quest for 600

Mauer should be batting second. Nishi hasn't shown any reason that he deserves to be there.

Re: 2011 Minnesota Twins: Yoshi, Pavario, and Big Jim's Quest for 600

Revere should just run the ball to the plate instead of trying to "throw" it.

Re: 2011 Minnesota Twins: Yoshi, Pavario, and Big Jim's Quest for 600

This team is stuck in neutral (they're something like 15-15 in their last 30). Unfortunately, they're still close enough to the division lead to not be sellers, but they aren't playing well enough to be buyers, either. At least Baker continues to pitch well.

I think Valencia should start covering the line sometime soon. (Three doubles right down the line tonight.)

No moves made, not that surprising really.

Re: 2011 Minnesota Twins: Yoshi, Pavario, and Big Jim's Quest for 600

Why would we make a move? Our bullpen has been lights out all year. Our bats have consistently hit, and we have no problems scoring runs.

Re: 2011 Minnesota Twins: Yoshi, Pavario, and Big Jim's Quest for 600

Our bullpen has been lights out all year.

We should try turning out the lights whenever we have to go to the bullpen. Maybe the other teams will have a little less success hitting it then.

Re: 2011 Minnesota Twins: Yoshi, Pavario, and Big Jim's Quest for 600

It was fun watching the Twins Classic game last night: Kubel's hit-for-the-cycle in April 2009, when he completed the cycle with an 8th-inning grand slam to put the Twinks ahead (and, ultimately, the winning runs) against the Angels.

Re: 2011 Minnesota Twins: Yoshi, Pavario, and Big Jim's Quest for 600

10 total posts in the last 7 days, I think interest in the Twins has reached the "hard to pay any real attention any more" stage.

Re: 2011 Minnesota Twins: Yoshi, Pavario, and Big Jim's Quest for 600

Went to the game last night -- our first since we've moved back.

I can't believe we walked Adam Dunn twice. Worst hitter in the majors. That was depressing.

A Kramarczuk brat and a draft Summit helped -- though $7.75 for a beer is depressing, too.

Re: 2011 Minnesota Twins: Yoshi, Pavario, and Big Jim's Quest for 600

Pavano only gave up 2 runs (1 earned) through 8, and the team still lost 6-1. Tre-mendous!

Re: 2011 Minnesota Twins: Yoshi, Pavario, and Big Jim's Quest for 600

If I didn't know better, I'd say they've thrown in the towel for the year.
No way these guys even get back to .500.
