Re: 2011 College Football: Occupy GameDay!

No, gives me too much stress live. So while we can hear the Big House, the only game we have been to in the last 15 years was the hockey game.
Well now. I certainly didn't expect that reply! But to thine own self be true, obviously.

For my part, being in the stadium allows for the opportunity to open the vocal cords a little and release a bit of stress. I'll allow that my in-person attendance at home games is no better than 50% these days. But the reduction has more to do with competing obligations than stress.

The other reason, before we got married, we made the choice to go to hockey games instead of football. Couldn't afford both back then, and didnt' miss it much.

Re: 2011 College Football: Occupy GameDay!

Makes sense. Family and financial factors are certainly among the "competing obligations" I was referring to.

Like I said, you should ALWAYS be embarrassed for being an Iowa Pigeon fan. :p

Hey, hey now, don't hate on my roots! I hate losing to Minnesota because every year our team is better, and every year all my buddies, the closet gopher fans that don't even watch the game but give me **** about it for the entire year. But, I wouldn't have this problem if the boys wouldn't have ****ed it down their legs Saturday.

Re: 2011 College Football: Occupy GameDay!

They didn't screw up their draft order by beating Iowa? ;)

That's the vikings. Although I suppose one could be confused as some of the top tier college teams would likely put a whoopin' on the vikings this year.

hey, hey now. aren't you a Maine Football guy? Ferentz coached at Maine back in the day!;)

Somehow Iowa still controls their own destiny, if they win out, they play for a Rose Bowl bid.

Now, I'll lay off the kool-aid and understand that's highly unlikely, especially in a rebuilding year, but they now have no room for erros. They can get things rolling the next two weeks with Michigan at home and then Sparty coming to town.

That's because they still have games against MSU, MI, and @NE left and all three already have one conference loss, beat all three of them and IA will hold the tiebreaker against all three.

About as likely as this scenario:

If Nebraska beats Iowa (losing their other 3 to finish 4-4), MSU beats Indiana and Northwestern (going 2-2 to finish 5-3), Iowa beats Michigan, Purdue, and MSU (finishing 5-3), Michigan beats Nebraska (losing 3, and finishing 4-4), and Minnesota wins out, Minnesota would win the tiebreaker between them MSU, and Iowa, sending them to the Big10 Championship Game. :D
