2011-2012 Season Schedules

Re: 2011-2012 Season Schedules

The following teams I do not have listed as having complete schedules. I am not including exempt games within this list, only the 34 that count against the NCAA limit:

ATLANTIC (east, west)
Army - Non-Conference Only, schedule officially announced :(
Holy Cross
Air Force

ECAC (ivy, non-ivy): Exhibition Games Only

HOCKEY EAST
Massachusetts Amherst - Non-Conference Only
Merrimack - Non-Conference Only, schedule officially announced :(

CCHA
Ohio State - Non-Conference Only, schedule officially announced :(

WCHA (by pod)
North Dakota - Non-Conference Only, schedule officially announced :(

INDEPENDENT
Alabama Huntsville - schedule officially announced :(

The schedule is available at the following link:

Re: 2011-2012 Season Schedules

per http://fearthetriangle.com/ looks like Holy Cross replaced UConn on UMass's schedule. Date unknown at the moment.

They were originally slated to play November 11th. Both teams are free that day, remain in the general vicinity when it comes to location, and it doesn't look like a chance of Holy Cross needing a league game there (the only holes they have are Air Force and Mercyhurst, and those I can guess at 97% probability when those games will be). However, there are a couple dates in October that are a possibility as well, so I will hold off for now.

Re: 2011-2012 Season Schedules

Thanks. :) One little discrepancy: November 11th and 12th. I think Mercyhurst has the RMU and Air Force games backwards, given that RMU and RIT (whom Air Force plays on the 11th) have already released. Seeing as how thus far you agree, I'll pencil it in.

I would guess Holy Cross and Air Force on January 6th and 7th (not sure where), so we're pretty much set with the league games in Atlantic.

Re: 2011-2012 Season Schedules

I agree the MH has the RM and AFA games backwards - they dont have a press release yet so maybe they will catch it.

I also think that 1/6 and 1/7 look right, and those games should be @ Holy Cross. All that is missing is the HC/Mass amherst date and up to 3 OOC games for AFA (but I don't think they will schedule all 3, if any...I think we would have known about it by now).

Not necessarily regarding Air Force... North Dakota still has a few games left, they have yet to announce, and there is a weekend in December in common. I do agree that they probably won't schedule all 3 (unless they are to pull something off with Ohio State or Merrimack, but I doubt both of those).

Re: 2011-2012 Season Schedules

Makes you wonder about NoDok having 2 less games. Anyone think fallout of the new confernece in not getting 2 games?

Re: 2011-2012 Season Schedules

They're still playing 35 NCAA games, which is 1 more than most teams play.

Actually, 37. Both IceBreaker games are exempt, the two games in Alaska are exempt, and one of the international exhibitions is also exempt. Perhaps they don't want to "burn the team out"?

And I'm not over-sensitive, I just get disappointed when teams aren't able to completely fill their schedule.

There is an NCAA rule about how many times per four years you are allowed to use an exemption for a tourney like the IceBreaker. I know North Dakota played in the 2008 Ice Breaker. That could have something to do with it.

17.12.5.3 clause m does not give any sort of limit as to how many times a team may compete in that tournament. The only four year limit deals with an international tour, whether in season (17.12.5.1) or during the off-season (17.12.5.4).

Granted, my source is the 2010 rule book. This year's does not seem to be available for free (or at least I haven't checked).

Hard to say, but not likely. The teams that are really ticked off at us (MTU, Mankato, SCSU, UAA, BSU) have to play us, at least for two more years. :)

Rulebooks are on a 2 year cycle - the 2010 rulebook covers 2010-2011 and 2011-2012 seasons.

This is not in the hockey rulebook. It is 2009-10 NCAA Division I manual, effective 1 August 2009. I do not know the time interval at which this manual is released.

EDIT: Here's this upcoming year's rulebook: http://www.ncaapublications.com/productdownloads/D112.pdf
The same by-law number and information applies.
