2011-12 NCHA Thread

Re: 2011-12 NCHA Thread

Yeah, but their doormats have the talent to take games from the top NCHA teams. Take a look at SSC's results from last year. They were not exactly getting blown out by the other NCHA teams.

You are so right, the other conferences have 2-3 major powers and then drop off each year or a bunch of teams that are so so average. Only a few of the top teams could compete in this conference from other parts of the country but I think the middle teams in the NCHA could compete very well elsewhere. I am not putting down the other conferences just saying the NCHA has alot of depth.

When I take a quick look at the league standings over the past 5 years......the NCHA doesn't differ a whole lot from other conferences. One or two teams close at the top .800 ......3-4 ......in the middle .500 or better......... and 1 or 2 doormats.

Many conferences enjoy rivalries and when the season shakes down the standings often mirror those of the NCHA.

Sure the standings might mirror other leagues - but someone has to win, lose or tie every game. Do you really believe that the tomato cans in the MCHA like Northland and Concordia can consistently beat Adrian, MSOE and Marian if those teams have an off night? No way. In the NCHA if you have a bad night you will lose guaranteed. You certainly won't get away with crosschecking a guy in the back of the neck from the bench area, that's for sure.

Re: 2011-12 NCHA Thread

How does this weekend shakedown with #4 RF at #10 Sup, #15 Eau Claire at the only team note receiving votes SP and ST (1) at CSS (5)?

Re: 2011-12 NCHA Thread

4 NCHA matches this weekend within 10 miles of me! Falcons at Yelleowjackets and BlueDevils at Saints.
Both matchups will come down to special teams efficiency. CSS seems to only score on the PP and can kill anything off. UWS couldn't score or kill to save a baby. This means stupid penalties will make or break the Jackets and BlueDevils this weekend. Words to the wise...be smart.

Re: 2011-12 NCHA Thread

Did anyone get a chance to see/hear the RF-Sup games this weekend? Was this an off weekend for the Jackets or is RF just that much better?

Re: 2011-12 NCHA Thread

Jackets could not find the net. Plenty of scoring opportunities for UWS, more than RF, but no success. Let us not forget that UWS is also 6.9% on the PP in NCHA play. Overall, could have easily been a split, but RF has momentum and a determined squad, and that was easy to see.

Re: 2011-12 NCHA Thread

Brady Horn is now with the pointers

I am taking in a few of the web casts last night and tonight so I am watching the Pointers, their PP sucks at less than 10% you said Brady Horn is on Stevens Pointe but I don`t hear his name on the web cast, is he injured. He is good how come they don`t play him , if Pointers did you would have a PP. I will check the roster next week unless you know.

Re: 2011-12 NCHA Thread

He is with the program but is not on the roster and has to sit out the entire season. But will be playing next year with them.
