If Minnesota is a bubble team, someone else is going home. If Minnesota is ranked #17 on selection sunday, yeah, we're going to be on the losing end of that.

Speaking of arrogance, isn't this about the time the gopher offseason thread usually starts up? You guys run the best offseason thread on the board.

Are many of the other candidates more deserving? The Gophers definitely have it in them to go all the way this year.

Well, last weekend was definitely a kick in the nads. The question is, how does the team respond? Do they start playing inspired, disciplined, focused hockey on a more consistent basis from here on out? Friday's game I think will say a lot. If there are any positives to take away, I think Haula is starting to find the scoring touch again. Hope he continues to hear up.

Also, I mentioned this on Twitter. I realize we are losing Patterson (our best defenseman) next season, but I am really looking forward to getting Brady Skjei and Mike Reilly into campus. Both are having really solid years (Mike Reilly leads BCHL defensemen in scoring) and will push the guys we have n roster for playing time. Guys will be forced to play focused and disciplined, or sit in the bleachers.

I wonder if the Gophers could be the first team from a major conference to win the league and not make NCAA tournament. Sure seems like they are trying to accomplish that.

Someone was saying CC did it a number of years ago.

Edit: Also, with a regional in the back yard, if we finish #1 in the WCHA, the NCAA will make **** sure we make the tournament unless it's painfully obvious we're out (#17 in the PWR for instance).

I'd prefer we missed the NCAA tournament to going and losing in the first round. Makes for fewer weekends wasted hoping for a good performance.

I think if the Gophers can get in they will be fine, playing at the X in front of a large home crowd, bring it on.
