In other exhibition games last weekend, UM-D and the Minnesota Whitecaps tied 3-3 with the Bulldogs winning the shootout 3-2 in seven rounds, and Michigan Tech beat Ni****ing, 5-3.

Because it's non-con at the CCHA location, it becomes an agreed upon decision by both head coaches.

Walt doesn't like the shootouts either, so don't plan on seeing them.

I don't see how they would have a shootout anyone? It's meaningless outside of the CCHA conference standings? So since this is an non-con, it makes no sense to have one.

Except for the conference standings, shootout doesn't matter in the CCHA either. It's still marked as a tie.

Good game by LSSU. They knew how to go after Rieter and they didn't give up. Perhaps we played horrible or you will not be a 9th place team this year. I will be watching that PP % all year making sure you keep up this pace (or at least a good percentage)


On to NMU where once again we face an hungry NMU team. I hope UMD learned somethings from the game tonight and can apply it tomorrow night.

Our power play over the last few years has a strange knack for things like this..we wont score on the PP for a month and then toss in 3-4 in a single game, here's hoping we find some consistency... We have freshmen in some key postions and if they play to their potential we will make some noise in the CCHA, preseason rankings are useless...The best thing I will take from tonight is that although we tied a top tier team we are capable of playing much better than we did which is promising for the upcoming season. Best of luck to UMD the rest of the way...I will be rooting for you in WCHA play!
