You gotta defend your goalie. The refs had made so many other calls it wasn't necessary for them to call anything in that situation.

And what exactly was Pavelski doing to Howard that required defending? Other then lighting up that light behind him?

And "they called other penalties on the Wings, therefore they shouldn't call that" is one of the dumbest things I've ever heard...and I have to read posts by willythekid, Happy, and VarsityWisconsin on a daily basis...

This is one of the worst officiating games in the history of the NHL.

That whole third period was an abortion - the officiating, the broken stick and most importantly, the Wings just sucked.
