Re: 2010 Stanley Cup Playoffs III: "Don't Toews Me, Bro!"

Bruins fans acting like doosh bags at a playoff game? Why, I'm shocked! Wait a minute...remembers April 2008....no, I'm not shocked at all.

 Pot, meet kettle.

Montreal fans are some of the nastiest in all of sports. Any fanbase that boos an opposing team's national anthem has no right to call out other fans.

(I know that there is just a small percentage of Montreal fans that do that. Just as there's a small percentage of Boston fans that are *******s. There's fans like that for EVERY team. Hell, when I flew out to SJ to see a Bruins game, a SJ fan poured Beer on me. And SJ has some of the nicest fans around. I was at the game with my friend, a Sharks fan. I jumped and cheered when my team scored, and joked with my friend how rough a game Clowe was having, but certainly didn't deserve beer getting poured on my head. There are always *******s in every crowd.)

Considering how the Bruins fans acted last night, getting indignant about anything is probably a bad play.

I'm not indignant about anything. Yes, the way Bruins fans acted last night was inexcusable and classless. I've seen plenty of it in the games I've gone to so far this year. But saying all Bruins fans are like that is stupid. As well as acting like Boston's fans are the only ones acting like this.

My point was EVERY single team has fans like this. To say your team doesn't is delusional.

Oh absolutely.

Fans sniping at other fans is generally foolish since everyone has skeletons in their closet, so to speak.

Sounds like everyone's just twiddling their thumbs waiting to see what the City of Glendale will do next.

According to that article, Glendale has a $14M budget shortfall and the Yotes, who lose $20M a year, are asking for $45M in subsidies?

If I'm on the Glendale city council, that's the easiest vote of my life.

It really does look like a no-brainer. That said, having an arena that the NHL essentially bullied you into building for the team in the first place sit empty and having the surrounding businesses suffer for it doesn't offer much solace.

If the team ends up leaving town, I wouldn't be surprised to see a lawsuit from the CoG against the NHL, especially since the NHL said they don't have any qualms about breaking the lease with Jobing.com Arena.

In other Winnipeg-related news: It's believed the Colorado Avalanche will get sent to the Pacific Division if the Coyotes relocate to Manitoba. The Jets, of course, would then be part of the Northwest Division.

"But we've already invested $120 Million into this sports complex, and hosted a Super Bowl! We need the team to stay!"

This would also be a really good time to go back to four divisions. I prefer the AHL divisions versus the NHL's.

This exchange is insane until the last two posts.

Good job out of both of you.

That would give us two divisions of 7 and two divisions of 8. How would they handle the unbalanced divisional scheduling, short of going to unbalanced conference sizes, a la MLB?

Sort of like the AHL. Eight teams in one division, seven in the other. 15 teams for both conferences. Top four from each advance to the post season*.

* And to make it interesting, use the AHL "transfer rule" where if the fifth place team in the eight team division has more points than the fourth place team in the seven team division within their conference, they can slide into the fourth spot for the post season.

Re: 2010 Stanley Cup Playoffs III: "Don't Toews Me, Bro!"

They were playing great, leading Boston fans to say, "Where'd this team come from?"

The most common comment about last night's game? "It looked like the regular season."

That's what was so disheartening about that game. This wasn't just one terrible game in the post-season, it was this year's Bruins reverting back to form. Hopefully they can find whatever spark they had earlier in the playoffs; they have two games to prove they haven't actually regressed again.
Well with the support of fans like this, I'm sure they're pumped up and ready to go!
