2010 Minnesota State Fair

Re: 2010 Minnesota State Fair

Yeah, never got that.

I even question listening to the radio or TV broadcasts outside the booth. It's not like the on-air personalities perform crazy circus stunts.

And there's a reason why they're on the radio...

Re: 2010 Minnesota State Fair

Like I told GLM: "GLM, you have a face for radio." :)

and he is proud of it.

BPH, the Star Tribune thingie is always solid for a bag. Plus a newspaper. I don't understand the obsession with those crappy St. Thomas bags. I swear, the purple *ks with peoples heads or something.

Rather then go to the WCCO thing or Kare 11 thing, I like swinging by KFAN and just chatting with Corey Cove or Mike Morris. These people aren't gods or anything; they are regular dudes who just happen to have a radio job. It's the same reason I would never approach an athlete for an autograph. I'd rather have a conversation with them and get a picture with the two of us having a beer or something. I've talked on the phone to Thome, Slowey, and Morneau, and never once has the conversation been about anything other then drinking, sports, hating the White Sox, and making fun of the guy who puts us in the toss your cookies row.

But what would I talk to Shelby about? Him being old and needing to keel over?

Rumor is, Shelby is actually pretty awesome. I don't know, but that's what I've heard.

Re: 2010 Minnesota State Fair

You should've talked to Morneau about drinking maple syrup and fighting bears.

Re: 2010 Minnesota State Fair

I've heard the opposite. But hey, what do I know? ;)
I don't remember where I heard it...but it was something like as soon as he gets away from the public eye he is completely different, rides a Harley, and is basically a biker complete with leathers and tattoos. Which is hard to imagine when you see him as a news anchor.

I can back that up. He is a good guy that you can easily bs with. When he is off air he does not like the spot light and often he goes out of his way to try and blend in with his surroundings.
