2010 Milwaukee Brewers Offseason - Prince or no Prince?

Re: 2010 Milwaukee Brewers Offseason - Prince or no Prince?

@)#(*%&@#%(*!@$

Great; the game I get tickets to (Tuesday after home opener) is going to have a shi**y pitcher to let the Braves win.
Actually it could be Yo...there is an off day after the season opener...

DP, if they keep 1-4 every 5th day as often as possible, skipping the 5th spot when its allowed, they can get to May 4th on 2 starts from their 5th starter...That gives me hope that Greinke's injury won't be a huge deal as long as he can be back by May 1 (hopefully way sooner...

Re: 2010 Milwaukee Brewers Offseason - Prince or no Prince?

Rogers sent down because he won't be ready for Opening Day, although he did pitch. Your shi**y #5 pitcher may be Wily Peralta.

"We looked at where he was and if he was going to be ready. We're going to need a (fifth) starter the first week of the season and then 10 days later. We don't think he can be ready at that time."

Roenicke said Rogers remains a candidate to get the second No. 5 start on April 16.

Here's your injury rundown -

Braun hampered by - guess what! - his intercostal again
Betancourt - quad, day to day
Gomez - stiff back, day to day
Chris Dickerson - intercostal (he ran into the Panda against the Giants - that's gotta hurt), day to day
Logan Schafer - broken thumb - 3-4 weeks
Lucroy - broken pinkie, but now he may be ready for Opening Day
Greinke - broken rib, may do light tossing next week
Hart - oblique, might play next week
Weeks - groin, still playing, but limited
Parra - back, may throw soon

And here I thought we would get healthier with the departure of Ben "Glass" Sheets.....

Shaun Marcum leaves early with shoulder tightness.

they say it's not serious, but can I just say...

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!! :mad::mad:

Re: 2010 Milwaukee Brewers Offseason - Prince or no Prince?

Jesus Christ. Did MTU rent out the skating treadmill to Milwaukee?

They need to cancel the rest if the spring training games, wrap all these guys in bubble wrap, and get them safely back to Milwaukee before more injuries happen.

Re: 2010 Milwaukee Brewers Offseason - Prince or no Prince?

Melvin says the #5 starter will be from within the organization (yeah, a little relieved they're not interested in Davis)

The Brewers are not interested in left-hander Doug Davis, who threw for scouts on Monday, or in Oliver Perez, released by the Mets. They're also not in on free-agent right-hander Kevin Millwood, a Scott Boras client seeking a Major League contract and significant dollars.

Re: 2010 Milwaukee Brewers Offseason - Prince or no Prince?

Jesus H. Christ. Between all these injuries for the Brewers, and the Badgers inability to MAKE A SHOT, this effing sucks. I am one cranky SOB right now.

Re: 2010 Milwaukee Brewers Offseason - Prince or no Prince?

With McGehee's injury, all nine probable Opening Day starters have missed time this spring.

Injury updates: Hart and Lucroy probably not back for Opening Day and Marco Estrada is probably the fifth starter.

Re: 2010 Milwaukee Brewers Offseason - Prince or no Prince?

Chris Dickerson traded to Yankees for Sergio Mitre. Roenicke says Mitre has a chance for the fifth spot too.

also

And I just saw a report by FoxSports' Ken Rosenthal that the Brewers are one of the teams interested in Washington's Nyjer Morgan, who is on the trade block, as a possible replacement for Dickerson as the backup centerfielder to Carlos Gomez.

I kind of like Nyjer Morgan, even though he appears to be a total whack job.

Isn't Morgan the guy who just completely raped the Brewers every time he swung his bat last summer at Miller Park?

http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/gl.cgi?id=morgany01&t=b&year=2010
Nevermind, guess it isn't.

From Wikipedia:

On August 25, 2010, Morgan was given a seven game suspension for throwing a ball at a fan during a game against the Philadelphia Phillies at Citizens Bank Park
I see nothing wrong with that if it was a Phillies fan :p

Morgan also played ice hockey, reaching the Major Junior level with the Regina Pats of the Western Hockey League in 1999–2000
I like him even more! :)

Morgan occasionally refers to himself as Tony Plush, which he states is his "Gentleman's name."
Oh geez, here we go....

Re: 2010 Milwaukee Brewers Offseason - Prince or no Prince?

We should have hung on to Cutter Dykstra in the long run he'll be better he batted like 320 in low A last year, that's top 10 in the whole Midwest league

Re: 2010 Milwaukee Brewers Offseason - Prince or no Prince?

Shaun Marcum pitched yesterday and said he feels fine.

Phew.

edit: by the way, Zach Braddock missed his scheduled inning yesterday because he got stung by a scorpion. Really??? Well I guess that's something they don't have to worry about when they move north. :p
