Re: 2010 Maine offseason: a lazy summer on the Stillwater

They don't want the expense of travel. Looks like they're avoiding the Gut and even Providence.

i know, just complaining b/c i can... i am glad that in addition to the wabi games, that they will be on nesn three times (and possibly more depending on the bu package)

just find it humorous that they are headed to the whitt three times for four total games... they should be showing at least one game from each rink...

Re: 2010 Maine offseason: a lazy summer on the Stillwater

True, but it’s still one of the darkest rinks in HEA. I believe Providence is a little brighter because the walls are lighter and closer to the ice surface but Merrimack is about the same as the Alfond. I don’t know about Vermont, I have yet to visit the Gut.

The new lights make the ice way brighter, the rest of the arena is dark but I think the ice is fine

Interesting...glad to see the increased effort and focus.

I hope he comes in and lights it up. But won't believe it till I see it. Hopefully he's not one of Timmy's pet projects.

Re: 2010 Maine offseason: a lazy summer on the Stillwater

Maybe TIMMAY will give him just long enough to lose all of the key OOC games so Maine can be screwed.......again.

Re: 2010 Maine offseason: a lazy summer on the Stillwater

...Well lets hope he has woken up...last year he showed up Mentally and Physically unprepared for the College game...and it wasn't that he didn't know what he was coming into as his coaches had given him requirements when he was to be in Camp last year...myself I am not sold either...Sirman will have to show what he's made of...lets all hope he does. Lets hope for a real good competion between the 3 netminders. For this TEAM to have a winning season it all starts with who's between the pipes and how the team reacts to his game, solid goaltending will be a must for this team to make noises in Hockey East play and for their chances to make the NCAA's.

Does anyone have info. regarding Ouellette's injury and timetable for his return?

Standbrook records double eagle

Former longtime UMaine hockey coach Grant Standbrook accomplished a rare feat Wednesday when he recorded a double eagle on the par-5 15th hole at Penobscot Valley Country Club in Orono. Standbrook knocked the ball in the hole on his second shot. The 15th hole is 458 yards.

hehehe

I just pray Timmay doesnt phk up these goalies heads this year. Man, dont I wish for the way Walshy used to handle his netminders.

Re: 2010 Maine offseason: a lazy summer on the Stillwater

Is anyone else jealous that UNH is hosting Michigan this season? It's the one program that has never traveled to Orono. With the history of meeting them all of those times in the NCAAs and both teams winning National Championships.......I just gotta say, thanks Red!

Yes.

Maine has their deepest group of forwards in years, but nothing proven in goal right now.I saw Sirman twice last season;once he was impressive, and the other time he was cheese-cloth.I pretty much think that Maine's hopes for a playoff run lie with Ouelette, and who knows if he can stop a puck at this level?Maine is dangerously thin in goal,no doubt about it.

I predict another long year...Hope I'm wrong,though.

It won't be too bad of a season as long as Maine can score 8 goals a game.;)

Maine vs. Michigan State, Friday, October 18 will be televised on CBS College Sports.

Kerluke not at the Lobster Fest. Ouellette has an ankle problem but should be ready for Lowell - U-Conn weekend.
