2010-2011 Scores and Highlights

Re: 2010-2011 Scores and Highlights

Knight closes it out in OT with an odd angled goal that was initially reviewed.

Badgers win 3-2 and Bemidji is swept at home for the first time in their new digs..

Very nice place to watch hockey!

Re: 2010-2011 Scores and Highlights

BC defeats Providence in a contest that came down to Danielle Welch (4) vs Laura Veharanta (2).

Re: 2010-2011 Scores and Highlights

Dartmouth held on to take two points tonight - 3-2 over St. Lawrence. Shots 40-26 in favor of St. Lawrence. Harvard and Clarky skated to a 3-3 tie.

2010-2011 Scores and Highlights

I noticed a St Lawrence player received a ten minute misconduct in the second period. Wondered if she were out with no substitution for any of that time span. Also Dartmouth without Trunzo. The trips to the chilly north country always give me pause. Good luck tomorrow with Clarkson, strong of late and proved so today I think, tieing Harvard.

Re: 2010-2011 Scores and Highlights

Watching the game it appeared that it was 5 on 5 hockey with St. Lawrence player serving her game misconduct. Noticed also that Trunzo was absent.

Re: 2010-2011 Scores and Highlights

UMD leads Ohio State 4-1 after two periods. Laura Fridfinnson has three points (2g, 1a), Elin Holmlov has two (1g, 1a) and Jessica Wong has two (2a.) Three goals in the second for the Bulldogs. Shots on goal favor the Bulldogs 26-23.

SCSU Huskies up 2-0 over the MSU Mavericks in the 2nd... On there way to W #1 for 2010-2011?

Hope to hell I didn't just jinx them!

Re: 2010-2011 Scores and Highlights

UMD beats Ohio State 5-2. Unofficial numbers: Holmlov with three points (2g, 1a), Fridfinnson with three points (2g, 1a), Wong and Larocque with two assists each. Kim Martin is now 10-0-1 against OSU and the win ties her for the all-time saves record at UMD with Riita Schaublin. She even picked up an assist. Larocque is now four points from becoming the first Bulldog defenseman to hit 100 career points.

Re: 2010-2011 Scores and Highlights

Mercyhurst wins 4-0 over Cockell's Orangeman. Scanzano had two goals for the game. Agosta with an assist.

Final. Congrats to the Huskies on persevering through a brutal season and earning that first "W".:)

Should be a happy, relieved bunch of Huskies...Huskies...Huskies tonight. Start a streak?

Harvard 3, St. Lawrence 2 (OT)

Harvard 3, St. Lawrence 2 (OT)

In as close a game as you can imagine, Harvard's Jillian Dempsey scores with 7 seconds left in overtime against St. Lawrence for a 3-2 outcome.

Watched on a primitive b-2networks.com video feed that had exactly one camera (very distant grainy views of each crease but terrific 60 minute live close-up coverage of line changes along the Harvard bench, if that excites you; when they were beyond the blue lines, the players looked like stick figures in a circa-1986 Apple II-GS computer game) and no play-by-play (the only audio being score, penalty and one-minute-left-to-play announcements over the rink loudspeaker followed by a solemn radio announcer repeating each loudspeaker announcement, and trash music played during stoppages in play). When they would show the scoreboard during stoppages when there was a penalty in progress, they wouldn't include the part of the scoreboard showing the time elapsed in the penalty.

In contrast, somebody from the Harvard athletics department has already posted on youtube clear, well-lit footage of the H goals, with zooms at appropriate moments. Would that they had posted all 65 minutes.

This video feed from Canton NY reminds you of those maps of China showing the penetration of modern communications technology as being limited to a few miles inland from the seacoast....

Dartmouth up 2-1. Shots 23/13. End of two at Potsdam (Dartmouth outshot Clarkson 10-3 in second!)

Perhaps I wasn't clear on my penalty question.

Yesterday at St Lawrence a player received a ten minute misconduct. She, the penalized player, is out for ten minutes. Is there any other penalty to her team? Such as being shorthanded for two minutes, etc. A penalty added on, if you will, to losing the penalized player for ten minutes?

Final: Dartmouth 3, Clarkson 1. Shots 33/20, face offs, 35/24- both in favor of Dartmouth. No power play goals either team. Penalties: 4 for Dartmouth and 6 for Clarkson. Trunzo back.

I am impressed with their trip to the north country. Always a rugged show in February whether going out to Ithaca and Hamilton or north as with this trip. Home now for final two against the Big Red and Colgate.

C'mon, c'mon Fortino, Rougeau, White, Karpenko ... uh Johnston... uh...uh you have so ver many, uh ... Overguard, Jenner, Mazzotta, uh , another Overguard, Campbell, Ogilvie- to name a few of the top of my head and yikes here I'm out of space...

Re: 2010-2011 Scores and Highlights

UMD beats Ohio State 5-1 for its third straight sweep and St. Cloud coming to town next weekend to finish the regular season. With a goal and three assists, senior Jocelyne Larocque becomes the first Bulldog defensemen to hit the 100-point mark for her career, so good for her!
