Sharks trade Derek Joslin to the Hurricanes for "Future Considerations"

Considerations is a mediocre goalie with little upside.

Seriously, Ian White is probably being sent to San Jose at some point, apparently.

Pretty much. Our problems are all over the ice right now. I think this season has turned into what everyone thought would be last year.
Hey, if you guys need a goalie, you can have Marty Biron for, like, Stasny and a 2nd rounder. :p

Solid win for the Bruins. Horton's been pretty good lately. I love his shot.

And Marchand with 18. WOW.

I had $10 in a parlay on the Bruins winning straight up and Over 5.5. With 10 minutes to go in the game and it being 1-1, I thought no way. 3 quick goals for the Bruins and a junk goal by Ottawa later, I somehow win. :)

So Peverley was a 20 goal scorer last year. That a fluke or is he a solid player? Decent replacement for Wheeler?

He'll be a contributor for sure. He's a quick forward with good playmaking ability. He can kill penalties and is definitely an energy guy.

Plus, he's a SLU grad, so he's got that going for him too ;)

Ben Bishop gets called up? Oh man, I want to see that game if he plays.

Middle-of-the-night deal between St. Louis and Colorado. The Blues ship Erik Johnson, Jay McClement, and a first round pick to the Avs, in exchange for Kevin Shattenkirk, Chris Stewart, and a second round pick.

The picks are dependent upon the final regular season standings. If the Blues wind up with a top 10 pick this year, they can opt to push the traded first round pick to 2012 and the Avs will push their second rounder to 2012 as well.

Re: 2010-2011 NHL Season Part II - Concussions Are Serious Business, Savvy?

Stupid trade by the Avs. Stewart and Shattenkirk were supposed to be apart of the future of this team. It sounds like the Avs are trying to save a season that is already lost and now they are screwing with the future.

After sleeping on it, not sure I like this deal from either team's point of view. However, short of Johnson fulfilling his original hype and becoming the next Lidstrom/Pronger/Niedermayer, I think the Avs got the worst of this one.

I couldn't agree more.

I thought Stewart was one of Colorado's better players during the Sharks-Avs playoff series last year. Go figure.

Grapes calls out Lemieux for his comments earlier this week about head shots. Awesome. :)

Dear Calgary,

White shorts NEVER look good as a part of a hockey jersey.

Also, I find it disturbing that no Flames player grew a Lanny moustache for this game.

Just got home and turned on the game -- they're tan, not white. ;)

Talk about OLD SCHOOL! :)

We were listening to the Calgary radio pre-game show on XM while driving home. Flames PBP guy Peter Maher said the Blue Angels did the flyover --- it was the freakin' Canadian Forces Snowbirds.

Revoke his citizenship immediately!
