Re: 2010-2011 NHL Season Part II - Concussions Are Serious Business, Savvy?
Cleveland's failed twice at minor league hockey. First the former Muskegon Lumberjacks, (Good move there, Pittsburgh. You still suck.) then the Cleveland Barons, (now the Woostah Sharks).
In the AHL alone:
Baltimore failed three times (Clippers, Skipjacks, Bandits).
Buffalo Bisons failed twice.
Cincinnatti failed three times.
Fredericton, New Brunswick failed twice.
Moncton, New Brunswick failed twice.
New Haven, Connecticut failed three times.
Halifax, Nova Scotia failed three times.
Philadelphia failed four times.
Quebec City, Quebec failed twice.
Springfield, Massachusetts failed twice.
Syracuse failed four times.
Washington, D.C. failed twice.
The IHL, ECHL, WCHL, and other minor pro leagues below would contribute to a much bigger list.
*edit* Cleveland may have failed more than twice. They had the Falcons from 36-37, which changed name to Barons from 37-73. Then came back to the AHL in 2001-06. The IHL Lumberjacks would make it their third failed team. Not much hope for the Lake Erie Monsters to continue.
