2010-2011 DIII commitment thread

Re: 2010-2011 DIII commitment thread

What's going on with the new St. Scholastica program? I thought they were starting in the fall of '10 and if they are its been quiet. I saw St. Norbert's roster and it looked pretty impressive if all of the recruits show up.

CSS will have a full roster, with some pretty good MN high school kids going there in the fall.

Re: 2010-2011 DIII commitment thread

From looking at St. Norbert's lineup they look like much more of a "north american" roster than a group of Mn HS players. Not to discount what the Mn HS girls did from Gustavus did last year.

Re: 2010-2011 DIII commitment thread

BTD have posted some new names including 3 for CSS. They are JWHL players and include 2 Canadians. Middlebury also picked up 2 Canadians. In all there are about 20 new names scattered amongest the teams. Castleton as 3 added and Plymouth another 2 to add to their long list.

I wonder how much longer we'll be seeing recruits added to BTD. Haven't deposits already been required at most schools (isn't it May 1)?

Re: 2010-2011 DIII commitment thread

I hope the new rink at Plymouth State comes with new expanded locker rooms and equipment facilities based on who is eligible to return in addition to all of the new recruits. Wow, I bet the tryouts will be interesting with 35+ players competing.

I don't believe the coaches are obligated to list thier recruits in whole or in part on BTD. If the families or player don't report it and the coach doesn't see a reason to report it...it won't get reported.

Well, I know of another recent recruit to Elmira...and there are a few more Ontario girls headed to various D3 schools who are not currently listed on BTD too.

I believe you're right, but that wasn't really what I was getting at. I'm just wondering if we might be at or near the end of names popping up since the due date for deposits has passed - by now, it seems to me, players should pretty much have made their decisions, right?

I was surprised to see the list of UWS recruits on there already. UWS doesn't generally release its list until July/August. Its pretty much a crapshoot I think. You can still register at UWS the day school starts...so its not like the private schools out east.

Re: 2010-2011 DIII commitment thread

Any reason out there as to why the ECAC West teams don't post recruits.
Cortland, Buffalo, Chatham and RIT only have one each. Plattsburgh zero. Elmira four. Oswego and Potsdam two. Neumann four and Utica has the most with seven.

Come on coaches share the info so we can start looking them all up. Its a long summer.

Good coaches and good poker players only play one card at a time.

Re: 2010-2011 DIII commitment thread

Very true. Hopefully this translates into the bottom half of the league getting better. I do feel bad for the new chatham coach. They'll have their work cut out for them this summer finding replacements for their only two goal scorers.

Seems they will have their work cut out for them finding an AD and coach first...

Plattsburgh didn't lose a lot numbers wise. Houle usally keeps things pretty close to the vest. This is the first time in a long time that I've not heard a peep about recruits for PSU.

Re: 2010-2011 DIII commitment thread

I see Elmira bled out another recruit today as well as University of St. Thomas annouced it's incoming class from Minnesota. ;)
