2010-11 Minnesota Gophers -- May, West Pursue Erie March

Re: 2010-11 Minnesota Gophers -- May, West Pursue Erie March

Yup. And if you see me trolling in them, feel free to report me, and I'll do the same for you.

Do your players show the same form of courage as you do? I hope not. What a joke, you're going to report me, oh my goodness. Have I said something to offend you? Poor baby, another one that can't handle the truth. Was I even talking to you? Brooky knows why, he knows everything.

Re: 2010-11 Minnesota Gophers -- May, West Pursue Erie March

...obvious bias and disrespectful comments directed at opponents players complete with fabricated material and an apparent blind eye to the infractions by players on the team they support...someone who knows the difference between physical and chippy play...

Oh, boo hoo. Sit home and watch games on your computer, but you only see what's streamed. I was at the games and saw what I saw. I've seen Bulldogs play chippy, too, and I've called them on it. I love physical hockey and wish they'd ease up on some of the rules to let the players be more aggressive. But seeing things like hitting someone in the head with the butt end of your stick is something I'll call chippy regardless of which team they're on.

And of course I'm biased. We all are. I did say I saw the Gophers put a lot of effort into the games. There isn't a series I look forward to more than UMD and the Gophers because it's always a spirited match and that's part of the game. The Gophers will rebound from some early disappointments, no question about it, and I look forward to the rematch at Ridder.

I offered my opinion of the weekend as I saw things. You saw things another way and both of us with our biases. Relax.

People come here to read about hockey players, hockey teams, hockey games. Not squabbles. I intend to respect that.

You should have directed this to Brooky. Hell might freeze over first though. On second thought, hold your breath and see. :)

They didn't go to your thread with their thoughts - they stayed in the Gopher thread. If ya don't like what's on the menu, stay out of the restaurant. (that's rolleyes to you). Smiley.

Glad to see that you've been paying such careful attention. I guess that's punishment enough. Watch your step next time.(smiley)

At last I checked, we are fans of Women's Hockey first. Next we formed loyalties either based on Alma-mater or personal investment in a team. What some have, what some learn, and what others will never get, is that when it all boils down, we are a group (family, if you will) that is knowledgeable about hockey, hopeful for the outcome we desire, but have recently become separated by those whose cups are half full (the negative ones), and those who just want to fill the glass.

I will always want UNH to win, but I have made soooo many great friends along the way that I hope the best for all of us, and may the best teams get to the final 4. At that point, I am proud to expect that any of them can win. That, CanHockGuy, seems to be where we part ways.

Ya know, these two Hosers who hover around and pounce on every brooky post used to be irritating and annoying. Now they're just very BORING.

Capitalism is the economic manifestation of Freedom. Canadians long ago gave up that liberty to the Socialists. Now depending on how you look at it Freedom of Expression in Canada is either on thin ice or has already fallen through into the icy waters of censorship and PC. Just ask Ezra Levant and Mark Steyn. Fitting then, that a couple Canucks would be prowling an American website to ply their witchcraft.

You have no frigging idea what you're talking about. It's ironic how you jump on board with a history lesson, then make assumptions on what may have taken place here. Are you a prowler then? I post my opinion (freedom of expression). You're not worth it, the time or the energy. Thanks for the Capitalism lesson. Ezra and Mark would be proud.
Really can't blame you for being a homer though. :)

Re: 2010-11 Minnesota Gophers -- May, West Pursue Erie March

Just wanted to give all you fans of Women's Gopher Hockey a heads up that there is a jersey from the women's team up for auction at www.obermanauction.com. The auction is going to help raise funds for the head Men's Hockey Equipment manager at the University of Minnesota-Duluth, Chris Garner. (I know, a big rival, but maybe it can be forgot about for a good cause). The auction is to help offset medical costs (not covered by insurance) incurred from a bone marrow transplant Chris had in August. He is doing well now and hoping to be back at work by mid to late November. The auction ends on Monday, November 8th, so please check it out.....www.obermanauction.com is the auction site again. Thank you!

I think everyone here would agree that when it comes to things like this, it is no longer about us vs. them, only about helping people.

The jersey looks to be the main (white) home jersey, current edition, #8, no name. Here is a link to this item:

Speaking of the Red Menace, I think the Golden Gophers will have a full lineup and some new line combos for old bucky to deal with . Go Golden Gophers! We wont be offended if you want to take two from #1 Wisco this weekend. Have fun and please plan to bring the broom! Hoping for a return of numbers 4 and 17

Great news -- good luck Gophs, wish I could see it. Also good luck and stay healthy to the 5 Gophers competing at 4 Nations.
