Kubel Delivers! 3-0

Maybe Pavano can settle in now with a little room to breathe.

You can't stop Jason Kubel....nor can you contain him!

Don't read into this comment more than I intend...but does Delmon Young's swing look a little like Kirby Puckett?

Am I reading correctly that starting tomorrow, the Metrodome is getting re-named "Mall of America Field?" This is the end of an era on many levels.

I think just the field is being called that, not the facility itself.

Only the field.

Mall of America Field at Hubert H. Humprhey Metrodome.

The Vikes, as they should, are taking advantage of being the tenant.

I got this off the KROC AM website:

10/02/2009 - MALL OF AMERICA DOME
Minnesota News Network
The Metrodome is being renamed the Mall of America Field at the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome. The Mall has purchased the naming rights for the stadium in a deal that takes effect next Monday and runs through the end of the 2011-2012 NFL season, which is when the Minnesota Vikings lease on the stadium expires. Officials say the change will be in effect for the Monday night football game between the Vikings and the Green Bay Packers.

Re: 2009 MN Twins Part 3 - It's still not over...statistically

Smart by the Mall of America. That way they're mentioned every time but they didn't rename the facility.

So is this the longest name for a ballpark in the history of sports?

"Mall of America Field at the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome?"

A certain irony too as the MOM does sit on sacred land. ;)

Does anyone else touch home plate every time they walk through the theme park?

And would it be fitting if the last game at the Dome (not necessarily this game) is decided on a good old fashioned Dome Double?

I'm hoping for Span on 3rd with 2 outs in the 9th. Mauer hits an opposite field base hit over the heads of a shallow outfield for the win. :D

Kubel has done it again!!!!!

Two three-run homers make it 7-0 Twins!
