2009 College Hockey Showcase (Minn, Wis, Mich. MSU)

Re: 2009 College Hockey Showcase (Minn, Wis, Mich. MSU)

:(

The last Michigan home win I saw was against Niagara. I won't be at the games this weekend, so maybe they'll stand a better chance.

Going home for some seafood stuffing?

Join the club, none of us have seen a win at home since Niagara. I suspect that the Minnesota game will be competitive, in that neither team is as bad as what their record is. Who knows, it may be a comedy of turnovers, though. I suspect the crowd will be pretty dead, unless there is a huge visitor pilgrimage. Wisconsin seems to be on a bit of a roll, but even in their best years, the games were pretty tight. Still, fans may want their doses of Five Hour Energy to stay awake.

Do I remember correctly that we will not see the MN MSU game on FSN?

And Isn't the MN MI game on though?

Re: 2009 College Hockey Showcase (Minn, Wis, Mich. MSU)

and.....here's one weekend where I will root for the gophs as well, cause you know what? WCHA>CCHA:) and they have the hardware to prove it

Unfortunately, I have to disagree with a fellow Badger on this one. The only thing I dislike more then the rodents is anything from IL, so the only time I would root for the rodents if they were playing a team from IL. That isn't happening any time soon, so DOWN WITH THE RODENTS!!!!!!!!

Re: 2009 College Hockey Showcase (Minn, Wis, Mich. MSU)

So it looks like neither UW game will be on TV. Thank you Big Ten Network for your suckitude. Instead we get to watch Big Ten basketball teams play St. Mary's of the blind.

Give the BTN a little credit, they have Northwestern vs. College of Charleston (women) on Friday, and St. Frances vs tOSU on Sat. Woo Hoo, I'm sure to watch that.

I guess we can pay $2.99 to watch MSU vs UW on the web. Meh. I think I'll just follow the Badger Blog.

99.9% we're one in the same...not this time. This is the ONLY time I pull for Rodentia. Root for the evil empire east of Lake Michigan? NEVER.

Good thing I didn't make a bet that the BTN would have this series on. What says Big (11)Ten more than WI, MN, MSU, & MI hockey? I guess girls floor hockey and tiddly winks.

They're keeping the timeslots open just in case there's a basketball press conference.

What a joke!!! So frustrating, why do they advertise college hockey on there network if they don't show any of it... what i don't get is why not at least show them tape delay, even if they want to put on vagina basketball instead, they reply crap all the time on the Big Ten network so you could at least put the hockey games on at 1AM or something instead of watching brutal Big Ten announcers talk about football

I agree with this. I also think it could be the most intense of the 4 games, simply because both squads have got to be pretty fu*.ing desperate to turn things around.

I will be rooting for UW this weekend as well. The Gophers are going to need all the help they can get if they want to get within a stones throw of an NCAA bid.

Re: 2009 College Hockey Showcase (Minn, Wis, Mich. MSU)

I get the feeling that friday night against Wisk is going to be really tough for MSU. They seem to be a lot older, more experienced and a bit bigger than us and really seem to be overpowering most teams. Last year during the showcase wisky handed us what was pretty much tied for the most lopsided game of the year. Jeff Lerg is the only reason the score wasn't embarrassing.(who by the way i saw on campus today).

Minnesota will probably be more difficult than most be expect but hopefully not.

Depends on how angry they are about their fortunes of late. But, I don't expect anything anymore. There have been plenty of times this season where they should have been angry and driven, and it just didn't happen. Not for 60 minutes, anyway.

I asked @BigTenNetwork about this today on Twitter. Their response was.
"We try to do hockey justice with the basics (standings, rankings, scores) but don't have much more to offer at this time"

I responded by saying surely this weekend's games would draw better numbers than the crap women's basketball. They wisely decided not to respond to that one.

But do you have a defection and a decommit to the O in the same day?

I don't you want to compare defections with a UMN fan. Just sayin. ;)
They've had a player leave during the season for like 3 or 4 seasons in a row.

Yeah, but call me when it happens to them this year. Then we'll truly be on equal footing. At the moment, they have buy-in from everyone on the ice.

How does broken jaw, season-ending knee injury, and a defection in the span of just over a week sound?
