Re: 2009-2010 Official Vermont Season Thread
I think Madore will definitely start in goal. I would be surprised if Leonard isn't simply due to the fact that I think Sneddon is looking at effort being the most important factor. Bad penalties hurt for 2-5 minutes, but being lazy hurts for 60 minutes.
I havent seen SLU play but they current are sitting with 8-6-2 record having played the 47th toughest schedule. Good for 35 in the RPI rankings.
I would be disappointed if UVM can't win this game easily. That said, given UVM's annual habit of playing to the ability of their opponents a 1 goal loss seems very plausible as well.
However, this is a must game win for UVM, a loss would all but ruin their chances of an NCAA at large bid.
Okay, let's give it a try, let's talk some hockey. Hockey Talk with Linda Richman!!!
Single game this weekend, home against our old foe SLU, which appears to be playing solid, but certainly not spectacular hockey. It seems every week we go into games thinking "Okay, this will show us what the team is really made of." Having done that myself for a number of weeks, I think I've got a pretty good idea what the team is made of. Despite that, it will still be interesting to see how the team responds to last week's drubbing at the hands of UNH. Will there be any significant shuffling with the lineup? Will Leonard be in uniform after last week's 5-minute major? (Personally, I think he provides a spark and should be). Finally, I'd be shocked if we see anyone other than Madore in goal. Your thoughts? Talk amongst yourselves.
