That's a well-earned suspension. Using your job to try and help the home team win is inexcusable. That f-cker is lucky to not be fired.

So, Caps are getting owned, Ovechkin's frustrated and you get this

Bradley came right off the bench. I understand you don't want your NHL MVP breaking his knuckles on a clown like Downie, but Ovechkin loves this crap and the refs and his own freaking teammates don't let him finish. The refs jumped in on a beginning fight between him and Dan freaking Boyle last month. Kind of lame.

I wouldn't be surprised if that turns into a "permanent" suspension, a la Randy Schmidt.

Herr Bettman can't allow superstars to look like common goons. :)

Seriously, as far as the top players in the league go, I like watching Ovechkin more than Crosby. However the knee hits/attempted knee hits are getting a little ridiculous. I say let him answer for it.

Bradley was coming onto the ice on a line change from what I've seen around the interwebs (at least that's what Caps fans are saying) but there's no way ever, no matter how bad he wants it, that you let Ovechkin take that fight against a rock-head moron like Downie.

Then you tell Ovechkin to not be such an agitator. Either he's like Iginla, and starts fighting his own battles, or he's like every other star in the league, and he can dial back the charging and the knee-on-knee hits.

Wow. Way to go NHL. Hit him where it hurts, in the pocket change.

That's the maximum allowable fine under the Collective Bargaining Agreement. They hit him as hard as they could, fine-wise.

Of course, had he talked about Auger's girlfriend they would've sat him down for the rest of recorded time.

I figure that since he's got the "C" now fighting his own battles will become a more regular occurrence. Last night would've been a good start to it, although wasting that effort against a team you regularly punk out might ring hollow.

That's absolutely pathetic.

This is so true. People are harping on him, but he knows he's accountable for what he does on the ice, and I have no doubt that he'd fight if his team and the refs would let him.

The "change" happens visibly at the six-second mark of the video. Bradley technically comes over the boards for Eric Fehr (exiting at the door on the left-side), but look at the player that jumps on the ice at the right-side of the bench, and then has to get back off because Bradley jumped.

All in all, a savvy move by Bradley IMHO. Also, keep in mind the commentary provided is the Tampa Bay broadcast team. Washington was on a non-HD feed on CSN+ last night.
