Don Cherry tore into Cooke on tonight's Coach's Corner. Apparently Cooke some time ago challenged Grapes to say to his face what he said on air -- Cherry obliged with some language that couldn't be repeated on TV. :eek:

Much worse than the Lapierre hit that drew a 4 game suspension. Lapierre had no prior supplemental discipline. Does anyone think Ovechkin is going to draw a suspension??

They'll call them different because Ovechkin was penalized in the game and Lapierre wasn't. Then Campbell will fall back on his "I don't comment on non-suspensions" despite his inability to keep his mouth shut this last week about Cooke.

And why the heck is Semin running over the goalie on a breakaway?

And man, was McGuire a tool when discussing the Ovechkin hit? "This just shows how strong he was, and when he picks up his arm for a split second, that shows he cares."

Oh. Since it's Ovechkin's 3rd game misconduct this year, he gets an automatic one game suspension.

You can't give Washington a gaping chance to get back into the game like that, especially when your tender is a rookie and the other goalie is in the dictionary under "over priced sieve."

I think Vancouver has to be the favorites in the West.

Dude just picked up a gold medal. It's kind of a process of elimination out West right now.

1. San Jose- Uh, duh.
2. Chicago- Huet
3. Vancouver- Luongo
4/5/6- Phoenix/LA/Colorado- Untested kids
7. Nashville- Riiiiiight.
8/9- Detroit/Calgary- Incapable of playing 3 good games in a row.
