Re: 2009-2010 NHL Season Part 3: After The Gold Rush

Where the hell was this Luongo last weekend?

Chicago 3:48, Andrew Ladd 12 (Dustin Byfuglien, Jordan Hendry)
Chicago 10:22, Duncan Keith 12 (power play) (Jonathan Toews, Patrick Sharp)
Chicago 10:53, Troy Brouwer 19 (Niklas Hjalmarsson, Marian Hossa)
Vancouver 14:09, Ryan Kesler 19 (Pavol Demitra)
Chicago 15:08, Kris Versteeg 14 (unassisted)
Chicago 19:17, Jordan Hendry 1 (Jonathan Toews, Patrick Kane)

I heart Blackhawks.

They bring it to the rink most every night.

If the Bruins had any toughness left on this team they would pick up a goon and whack Cooke's knees on the 18th. Screw taking the high road. Cooke just basically screwed over the Bruins' season. It's over unless Savard is better than expected.

Cooke ran to the bench and didn't see the ice for the rest of the game!

From the Boston Globe: Marc Savard has been diagnosed with a concussion as a result of an elbow by Matt Cooke at 14:23 of the third period. According to Claude Julien, Savard was knocked unconscious momentarily. Savard will remain in Pittsburgh overnight while his teammates travel to Toronto.

Julien said he expects Savard to be out "for a while." Julien termed it a classic blind-side hit.

Stupid. The NHL needs to add the "Contact to the head" penalties that I hear called in the CCHA all the time.

And if Cooke runs to the bench, you throw the points and try to nail someone else on the ice. Your season is basically screwed. The Pens can't bench everyone.

I'm not an eye for an eye kind of fellow, but if that was the case the Pens put Crosby and Malkin on the ice late...Bruins would have used Thornton to take one of them out.

Regardless, if Savard misses much time that might be the end of their season.
