Detroit has been banged up all year, and is taking fewer chances. Phoenix can afford to be very physical, Detroit looks too concerned with avoiding more injuries.

It's why we're going to lose this series. Inexperienced goaltending isn't going to help either. Howard's not going to be Hasek or Roy and win it all by himself.

That said, Phoenix has to hope that they don't lose Doan for long.

And he's still brutal when forced to move laterally.

Not a great game from Jimmy. Soft rebound on the first goal. Fourth goal was brutal.

It looks like Detroit doesn't have a great goaltending option on their roster. But they have a bigger, more immediate problem. I've been away from the NHL for a while but from the 3 games in this series, the Phoenix Coyotes are just a better hockey team.

Jimmy didn't look good today, thats for sure but the team didn't look good either. Phoenix on the other hand did look good so....

PIT scores 1:17 in.

Elliott's vulnerable for a two-spot for the next minute or so now.

I can't remember a playoffs in which teams scored so early into games. Weird.

I'll be shocked when they disallow this goal. SHOCKED!

WWBD?

Should be a goal, no conclusive evidence, I think it hit off Fleury.

(Bettman answers phone at home)

"Yeah, what's up?......goal review? Ok, hold on, I'll dial it up......wait, it's FOR Ottawa? Ok nevermind, just wave it off. Yeah, I don't need to see it. Ok, thanks for the call. Bye."

Ah yes, the retaliation penalty. If you are "retaliating" didn't the first guy commit a penalty first?

It's amusing how many refs naively fall for retaliation penalties. Selective vision?

So true, Brent. I wonder if you can substitute Ovechkin for Crosby?

He clearly kicked the puck into the net. Are you drunk?:p

I think the puck hit Fleury before it went in. He definitely kicked it towards the net. No question.

If Crosby got hit like that the Penguins would have started a brawl.

Stupid penalty, but it was by Cooke, so go figure.
