While I understand that too rapid of a shift creates a knowlege vacuum (see: MTG, Boebert, Hawley), I'm really sick of people older than the signing of the Civil Rights Act with a stranglehold on government affairs.

House Ethics Committee is set to release the Gaetz Investigation Report...chances it is cut up or redacted to the point we only scratch the surface of the issues?

The fact that AOC was part of the reason the California Delegation didn't get their mini primary is definitely playing into this as well.

If the non-Centrist Left wants to make their move now is the time. Fight back against the "Woke Killed Us" crap and show why it is time to purge the Republican-Lites out. The one shot the Dems have left (no pun intended) is to show what true Progressive Politics are. No more "We are like them but we don't hate you!" crap, because people don't mind being hated if they are being lied to to make themselves feel better. The Horseshoe Principle can work to our advantage...Luigi Mangione or whatever is proving that on Health Care. Make the Dems the Party of the People again. Trump's cabinet is all billionaires, the oligarchs control everything. Run on that. It works...and if the people still fall for the BS at least we died phucking trying.

That would require Boomers to willingly give up power and risk their personal wealth. So not happening.

There’s basically two options to dragging the Democrats forward into a progressive platform:

1. A full on mobilization of resources to win primaries against the centrists.

2. A massive sit out of the 2026 elections and let the establishment get annihilated.

Working towards #1 is probably the more productive path. #2 is probably the only realistic option.

If this is their plan then the Democratic Party is dead. Full stop. No hyperbole. The Party will fracture and die and the Midterms will be the final death rattle.

No one cares about bipartisanship anymore. This isn't 1992 stop pretending it is. The people aren't going to hold them accountable if they were they would have done it in November after one of the least productive Congresses in history. These clowns are clueless including the numbnuts interviewed who is somehow in charge of the DCCC after a disastrous last election. Make Wisconsin's Ben Wikler the Party Chair (not Minnesota's Ken Martin) and pay to win. Prevent Defense in a game you are losing is never going to work.

I guess it will save me time and money. I am not a Republican and I am not going to fund the Party if their agenda is appeasement and basically just be less bigoted Republicans. If you don't have the balls to fight then quit or just admit Democracy isn't worth the fight.

This is what I'm leaning towards and I'm prepared to encourage my peers to do the same. If this is the path Democrats want to follow, they're tone-deaf and this is probably the only solution. Fook their Third Way bullsh*t.

I already canceled my (meager) donations and made sure to explain why when asked. Honestly everyone younger than 60 and who has any inkling of Progressive or Leftist Politics should walk away and start fresh. The low money donors like us (i.e. not the Donor Class pukes or frauds like Oprah) will follow them. The Boomers and the Centrists can go hang out with the Libertarians and the Whigs.

I was never a Dem (was always Independent who voted Left) until Dubya made it a necessity. I have no issue walking away from them the people making the decisions do not represent me or my values. Pelosi may play the game better than most, but she is just another Boomer trying to squeeze every ounce of privilege and power out of her life before she dies. Her feud with AOC is the best example of why the Leadership is just dumb. Yeah AOC protested in your office for the Green New Deal...so what? You guys lost the Latino Vote to a guy who openly said he is going to deport them and you are now kneecaping one of the most visible and well liked Progressive voices out there (she outperformed most New York Dems and she had a lot of Trump votes in her district) who also happens to be Latina? Genius!
