They don't like that TikTok does data harvesting. And it also ruined his rally by making them think they were more people coming than they thought from the RSVPs. But wait, if the rally RSVPs didn't do any sort of confirmation that people were actually coming or save actual seats, than what was the purpose of them? Was it just to gain a bunch of contact information to use to get money out of people in the future? Is there a name for doing that?

I'm fine with a TikTok ban. It pisses off the kids and apparently that's where I am in life now.

Anyways, joking aside, TikTok is home to some pretty vile lie factories and it goes absolutely unchallenged there. I really don't care either way.

They're all algorithms. They show you more of what you like.

Work in a school sometime...Tik Tok is way worse for about a dozen reasons. Kids addiction to it is not overblown and makes Facebook look like Prodigy.

This development is likely tied to the announcement from Rumble's CEO that he and a consortium of other technology providers are interested in buying it. ByteDance would rather get paid something than have the app be banned and lose their entire US investment. The Rumble guy, this investor, and the RNC see this dilemma as an opportunity to capitalize on TikTok's influence with younger people and push their own right-wing content/disinformation.
 
There is no way such a deal could happen any time soon...and if it is anything like their knockoff youtube kids will abandon it rather quickly.

I have never seen a politician's career burn up hotter, or fall faster, than spacecraft re-entering Earth's atmosphere, but hoooboy is North Carolina Representative Jeff Jackson doing a bang up job at making that happen.


Accountability of our politicians, all of them, is a good thing.
