I don't know. About the only real nice thing I get anymore is that extra hour of sleep once every year. While that may seem pathetic to you . . . .

But you could do that every day if you really wanted to.

I hate standard time. Once it hits, no time to get the bike out for a couple hours after work.

I, too, would prefer we move the clocks back in November and leave them there. It's a challenge to get up and motivated when it's dark out in the morning. If we didn't move the clocks forward, it would still be light out till 8:00pm-ish in the summer, wouldn't it?

Here's what it looks like for MN:

The thing that kind of screws with my head is that solar noon would happen no earlier than ~12:56:37 PM (ever!) for MN. The average would be 1:13 PM and as late as 1:27 PM.

I also think it's a consideration that society as a whole has decided to not use mornings for stuff any more. 9pm or 10pm has been deemed more "usable" than 4am or 5am...

As a fisherman, sometimes I'd prefer darkness at 7:30pm over 8:30pm in the Summer when I'm having to wake up at 2:45am to prep for tournament days.

God I hope so. As a night person, all you imbeciles getting up before sunrise in winter ruin my life.

I once met a girl from Wisconsin who thought you were supposed to turn the clocks back every Saturday night

Not surprising. Wisconsin girls feel, for some reason, that Saturday night is the only time they are allowed to . . . cut loose. So it makes sense they'd want to extend the window of opportunity a little. And can you blame them, with all those Wisconsin men around?

It would be, but sunrise would also be at 4:00AM in June - so it would start getting light at 3ish? That could be equally rough.

As an extreme non-morning person, I am glad that we're shaking off the shackles of the tyranny of the weirdo early morning people.

Being pitch dark at 4:15 PM stinks.

Yeah, but i'm not sure I love the idea of 9 AM sunrise though either.

Whatever. My enjoyment of the bellyaching was fun while it lasted. I also like forced change as much as I complain about it usually. It's often invigorating.

Then again, it would be kind of nice to have that extra week or two of yard cleanup time on the weekdays in mid-november.
