Hey, guess what? That's super-duper illegal!
Guess what, it makes republicans like him even more!
why are women even in the military? And how dare one report a sexual assault. Was her uniform too tight?
If she had just said yes they would not have needed to assault her...
Mitch McConnell isn't obsessed with just a "shield." The proposal he's pushing would roll back civil rights, workers’ rights, and disability protections – which would harm people for years to come. And he's using struggling families as a bargaining chip.
As proof, look no further than McConnell’s battle to attach a “liability shield” to any stimulus package. He shares this priority with the Trump administration and other Senate Republicans, who have been pushing since the summer for federal liability shields that would restrict COVID-19 related lawsuits. The White House’s proposed $916 billion rescue package includes what Treasury Secretary Stephen Mnuchin has called “robust” protections “for businesses, schools, and universities.” Industry groups say that without immunity from liability, they’ll face excessive litigation. Various Republican senators have suggested different routes to the same goal. McConnell’s shield would last until 2024, but a proposal from Senator Mitt Romney would only cover 2020. There’s some bipartisan support for “a six-month moratorium” on the lawsuits, the Wall Street Journal has reported.
I thought I remember reading a post from a lawyer who has followed this pretty closely and he summed it up with "To date, there haven't been many lawsuits at all relative to what was expected" so this just seems like the GOP spending political capital on something that doesn't exist.

Yeah unless you can prove you got the disease because of lax standards at work the chances of winning a lawsuit are pretty slim. You would have to be able to prove you did nothing that could have potentially put you at risk in the same time frame. The chances of that are highly unlikely.
I honestly think the GOP is being stupid here...they should have cut bait and run on this issue a long time ago. It is a nothingburger...
God he’s such trash
I would love it if Pete Davidson took back his apology and railed on him again. I don't really like Pete Davidson at all but I feel he got screwed with his apology and he should have free reign to rake him over the coals.

Same could be said for the Democrats, though - if there aren't any lawsuits anyway, why are they dying on this hill?
Seems like a case of Sayre's Law: "The politics are so fierce precisely because the stakes are so low."
