They are turning her into the next Hillary. They figure they have free reign to destroy her for the next X amount of years before she runs for Prez so that by the time she does people will believe she is as bad as they say she is. Difference is though AOC fights back and sounds smarter doing it than Hillary ever did.

How the Right treated Hillary for 30 years is a character study in how to play the long game in political assassination. It worked so well to this day there are people that hate her and are glad she lost and have no idea why. It was Manchurian Candidate level brainwashing and it worked across the board.

The problem is the Dems are stuck with them to get anything done. I did find it interesting though that they did seem to figure out that if Trump declares a national emergency for the border wall that they are in big trouble the next time a Democrat is in the White House.

McConnell cowers in his shell because of a frothing base that will primary anybody who doesn't support crucifying Muslims and immigrant children on the National Mall. It doesn't matter that McConnell is an educated man who is horrified by the rightwing base. He is terrified of them. We can do the same. Single Payer or you're out. UBI or you're out. Reverse McCutcheon and Citizens United or you're out.
