115th Congress the final chapter: And Gerry Mander as the Speaker.

Re: 115th Congress the final chapter: And Gerry Mander as the Speaker.

Former Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.) reportedly said the death of Iowa college student Mollie Tibbetts could be politically advantageous to Republicans heading into the November midterm elections.

"If Mollie Tibbetts is a household name by October, Democrats will be in deep trouble," he told Axios in an article published Wednesday.

So who will interimly replace Sen. McCain?
1. Winner of GOP primary?
2. Mrs. McCain?
3. Some buddy of the governor?
4. A Goldwater. Thereby retaining symmetry.

I'd say 3. #1 is surrendering Flake's seat to the Democrats in January. I think the Gov is a milder Trump so they don't care about the McCains or Goldwaters

How much do you want to be bet there will be a grass roots Trumptard effort to bog them down with either bogus ride requests or even real ones but from Trumptard voters?

Regarding the latter, I don't believe they're limiting it to any particular issue or party, so no big deal there.

I don't think they could but imho the intent by Lyft is to get more disenfranchised voters to booths and I'm guessing this fits more liberals than not in the areas this will be initiated. So what I'm saying is Trumptards could try to monopolize ride usage by flooding Lyft with requests from their base as much as possible thereby nullifying their intended result.

I love the initiative so I'm not trying to s**t on it's just I don't underestimate the level these *******s will go to to interfere.

If you don't show up for your ride you still get charged a no show fee I believe. So they'd have to be willing to pay to do that, and honestly it doesn't seem like all that effective of a strategy. I'd be far more worried about all the other voter suppression tactics (like what we talked about months back with OH purging the voter rolls) done by the opposition.

Gauche. Daft. Overt. Accurate. Newt being Newt.

Re: 115th Congress the final chapter: And Gerry Mander as the Speaker.

Newt said "if" and that's the key.
Mollie Tibbetts' name won't be remembered in the news cycle by week's end.

Fair enough.

I also mentioned elsewhere that gerrymandering and voter suppression on the whole are going to be potentially major hurdles in November and it's really sad it's come to that. Feels like I'm discussing elections in Thailand or the Philippines not the other way around. :(

Seeing as Mollie Tibbets family told them all to get bent anyways when they tried to politicize it methinks Newt has no idea what he is talking about.

Right but they were showing up anyways. The Dems arent going to lose because Republicans vote Republican.

The flaw in your plan is presuming Trump voters know how to use Lyft.
