better yet - the feed is free.

e team switches leagues again to the GLHL and thereafter consists entirely of Pietilas. A close win over Portage Lake salvages the tail end of the season.

It has been said there is a silver lining in everything... Tech playing in the GLHL means that I could watch them play in Wausau when they come to take on the Papermakers. Actually there were more than a handful of Tech washouts in the league (Calumet, Portage Lake, Green Bay), even when I played.
The heck with the WCHA! Bring Tech down to Wausau!

Holy cow! 3-1 Tech already on four shots! Bring on the next goalie.
And now it's 4-3 Beavers. That lead didn't last long...
I guess the defenders on both teams got the 1st period off.

Nice Job by Tech tonight against a tough Bemidji team....brings us back down to earth, which is a good thing........tomorrow.....less penalties, better power play and better D....running on 5 D is a killer for a fast skating system. I'm expecting a split....we were outshot, but no need for a repeat tomorrrow.

and they went down by three goals and didn't give up. its a different team. FIVE goals. geez - it used to take us six games to score five goals!

Some thoughts-
Wow, ridiculous first period tonight!
Each teams offense played well tonight, cant say the same for the defense.
I was really impressed by the the way Tech capitalized on Bemidji's turnovers tonight.
Bemidji played exceptionally well 4 on 4.
Great atmosphere at the game, looking forward to tomorrow night!

A really good game by Bemidji. I think maybe Tech got greedy after being up 3-1 and forgot about the D. The major hurt, but not as bad as it could have. I think both teams will need to pick up the D tonight. It seemed like Bemidji carried the play for sections of the game. I'm not sure I can say the same for Tech. Their chances seemed to come on more isolated plays. The two short handed breakaways that Tech couldn't put in and then Bemidji going right back and scoring was killer, but on the other hand I saw 4 or 5 times when BSU passed across the front of the net to a wide open player on the weak side staring at an empty net only to have the puck hop over the stick, so Tech could have won the game 6-4 or BSU could have won 10-5. Tonight will be about who tightens up the D and will probably have something to do with a lucky bounce somewhere along the way.

I'm trying to remind myself that being 4-1 to date is a GOOD thing...

Don't forget that if Furne(I believe it was him) wouldn't have missed that "easy" open netter with seconds left to play, we would have been listening and watching an overtime game. Even though the shots were a little lopsided, it was a very close game, and Tech will definitely come out hard tonight. I think both teams are fairly evenly matched, and I expect that even if the Huskies don't pull off a win tonight, they will continue fight till the last millisecond of the game. It won't be the same situation they were in last year. We won't be watching a team that loses the rest of their games except for 3 after going undefeated. It's definitely a different Husky hockey team we're watching here.

I'm not getting the hating on Bemdji. nice arena. beautiful lake - we saw an eagle with a fish in his talons. walked around downtown, hit the museum, ate wild rice omelets. people very friendly.

Exactly. The hating on Bemidji is stupid and unreasonable. Its not a bad place at all.

Much happier with the effort from Tech on Saturday. Sometimes you dominate a game, and lose against a red hot goalie. Oh well. Go Beavers.

Re: 10/21-10/22 Michigan Tech at Bemidji State: WCCHA Opening Weekend

dam Beavers (insert bad Beaver joke)

good to see you Brandon - say Hi to Lindsay! great to meet gmann. don't let anyone tell you he's a nice guy. Friday night he stood me up and Saturday I found him drunk and dangerous and buying yet more beer!

and we had a Sertie sighting!

this is a fun road trip. we let the Beavs win just because we can. that's how awesome Tech is.
